Basic Function

This position provides leadership in the Maintenance Organization at the LKO JV site. This position is one of two Maintenance Managers that report to the site Maintenance and Reliability Manager.  This role has the responsibility to coach, mentor, and supervise their respective maintenance team to ensure development and safe execution of LKO maintenance plans for their areas.  This position must perform at a strategic level with sound decision making while focusing on safety and site performance.

Roles & Responsibilities

•    Key member of LKO Maintenance & Reliability Leadership Team and responsible for executing strategic plans for Maintenance Execution & MRO.
•    Support Maintenance Leadership Team in Cost Management/Control:
o    Site Annual Maintenance, Facilities & Electricity budget for the site >$100 Million.
o    Annual Turnarounds for site of $20-25 Million.
o    MRO Inventory for site ~$100 Million.
•    Support Maintenance Leadership Team in providing direction & support to 300 plus personnel:
o    85 LYB personnel.
o    210-235 Resident Maintenance contractors.
o    Up to 60 additional contractors during Outages
•    Provides leadership and direction for the execution of Maintenance in assigned area:
o    Ensures all work in their area/craft of responsibility is performed to GoalZero expectations and in adherence with all procedures. 
o    Ensure that Maintenance Operations Workflow Process (MOWP) is adhered to.
o    Responsible for defining and achieving maintenance strategies/goals. 
o    Develops annual Maintenance budget for area and manages adherence to the budget.
o    Provides consistent direction to drive continuous improvement in maintenance performance.
o    Develops and implements maintenance processes to improve overall efficiency.
o    Reports on departmental performance relative to established Maintenance metrics. Provides analysis and improvement initiatives for these metrics.
o    Establishes and Maintains strong working relationships with Resident Contractors for the site and drives continuous improvement in their performance.
o    Works in conjunction with Site Extended Leadership Team to improve work performance.  This includes establishing best in class benchmark targets and recommendations to reach them.
o    Identifies and supports implementation of best practices within site maintenance to standardize technology across the site and speed technology transfer among areas. Justifies these initiatives with cost/benefit analysis to site management and senior leaders. 
o    Support Turnaround execution in assigned area. 
o    Sets and maintains a clear message that Safe execution of all work is the number 1 priority.
o    Ensures the Code of Conduct and all other Company policies are accurately, consistently and fairly administered.
o    Ensures compliance with all company, local, state, and federal agency requirements with special emphasis on personal and process safety and environmental compliance.
o    Manages performance and professional development of supervisory personnel and ensures leads/supervisors/coordinators are effectively managing hourly personnel and have the right level of contractor oversight.
o    Works with the Training department and resident contractors to ensure craftsmen acquire and maintain necessary craft certifications.
o    Responsible for budget expenditures in their area of responsibility, ensures maintenance accounting policy and cost consistency are maintained.
o    Ensures resources (people, tools, equipment, etc.) are utilized in the safest, most-efficient methods possible.
o    Enforces culture that will stop unsafe work, and correct unsafe work practices.

Min. Qualifications

•    BS degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
•    10 years of experience in chemical plant or refinery maintenance is required, with a minimum 4 years in a Leadership role.
•    Experience developing and managing a budget preferred.
•    General knowledge of purchasing and employee relations.
•    Working knowledge of company policies, mechanical and electrical maintenance procedures and health, safety and environmental requirements with a major focus on improving equipment reliability and root cause analysis.
•    Strong system skills for design and execution delegation of maintenance systems such as Operational Excellence, Mechanical Integrity, preventative/predictive maintenance programs, and process tracking. 
•    Ability to develop a strategy and collaborate with the other Maintenance Managers to generate improvements.
•    Ability to work effectively with others outside the line of formal authority to accomplish organizational goals and to identify and resolve problems.
•    Maintain and promote social, ethical, and organizational norms in conducting internal and external business activities.
•    Maintain stable performance under time pressures or job ambiguity.
