Maintenance Scheduler

Basic Function

This position is responsible for developing, maintaining, and communicating a schedule of all Project Polaris related activities. Project Polaris is the name given to an organized approach to implementing and delivering strategic initiatives that enhance value for the site. The scheduler will build a schedule based on the initiatives and milestones listed in Wave. The scheduler is responsible for ensuring that all available resources are scheduled and/or additional resources are approved and acquired to accomplish the required work. The scheduler is accountable for constructing and communicating this schedule as it changes, forecasting the impact of changes, and developing mitigation plans as necessary.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the enterprise sanctioned scheduling software, Primavera Enterprise to schedule and track all deliverables associated with Project Polaris
  • Utilizes the input from Project Managers and Initiative Owners to construct a workable schedule that optimizes the full utilization of all available resources that are required to meet production needs
  • Leads negotiations when necessary to ensure priorities are met and resources are continually optimized
  • Continually updates and communicates schedules to key stakeholders in a timely fashion that meets the needs of the identified work groups
  • Maintains an accurate forecast of the schedule as changes arise, and tracks their impact on the Bankable Plan
  • Makes achievable adjustments when necessary to ensure the Bankable Plan for the site is delivered
  • Provides necessary coaching to Project Manager or Initiative Owners to ensure the development of job plans can be transposed into a workable schedule and accurately links required tasks and specific resources that are necessary to complete an identified work scope
  • Works with Project Managers to proactively ensure we are ready to execute the schedule
  • Publishes a weekly and monthly schedule each week to the key stakeholders

Min. Qualifications

Area of Expertise, Requirements
•    This roll would require an individual to become proficient in SAP (including Plant Maintenance and Material Management modules), Microsoft suite applications (Word, Excel and Outlook), and the ability to become expert in Primavera scheduling software are essential 


•    HS Diploma (or equivalent)


Work Experience 
•    Minimum 6 years of experience with developing Turnaround or Capital Project work schedules (P6 Preferred) 
•    Prior scheduling experience preferred in a maintenance and construction related activities in a manufacturing unit or site
•    Experience with execution of large scale work scopes
•    Experience with Excel in entering data and creating and modifying charts, formulas, and pivot tables 
•    Significant experience in maintenance and/or production at a petrochemical or polymers processing facility with an emphasis on the planning and execution of Maintenance, Turnaround, or Capital Project activities
