Basic Function

This position is a part of the site Project Polaris organization and will collect and analyze financial data associated with all Project Polaris initiatives to ensure consistency of reporting the delivery of financial benefits for the site.  Project Polaris is the name given to an organized approach to implementing and delivering strategic initiatives that enhance value for the site.

Roles & Responsibilities

•    Perform trending studies and analysis for site initiatives
•    Prepare information and metrics for routine site meetings and reports
•    Engage with Project Polaris Initiative Owners to build spreadsheets and automate monthly benefit calculations (performance and actual)
•    Engage with Engineering to collect actual implementation costs for all site initiatives
•    Engage with Finance to collect actual monthly pricing data of raw materials and product margins on a timely basis
•    Conduct reviews with Finance to ensure they approve and are aligned with all site monthly benefit calculations
•    Ensure all impacts are uploaded successfully into the tracking software tool 
•    Develop implementation cost forecasts 
•    Help analyze and distribute unit variance data for the site to encourage new ideas for strategic initiatives
•    Perform other related duties, as assigned by site Polaris team

Min. Qualifications

Area of Expertise, Requirements
•    Advanced understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
•    Advanced understanding of mathematical calculations and trending software

 

Education and Work Experience 
•    High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 2-5 years of experience in cost forecasting 
•    Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field is preferred
•    Knowledge of SAP maintenance and project systems is preferred
•    Previous experience in project cost control or finance is preferred
