Basic Function

In this position you will be recognized as the utilities subject matter expert for the European region and be responsible for leading the improvements in utilities across several operational facilities. Provides leadership and direction to sites and the Utilities Technical Network (UTN) to drive long term reliability. Utilizes the Global Water Quality Dashboard (GWQD) and the water and process treatment projects dashboard tools to continuously drive increased quality and reliability improvements. Must have an extensive knowledge of water treatment and systems including; influent clarification, boiler feedwater production, cooling towers and systems, boilers and boiler systems, instrument air systems and wastewater treatment systems.

This role can be located in our of our sites in Germany, Netherlands or France.

Roles & Responsibilities

•    Maintains and analyzes water quality data regionally and drives improvements related to utilities reliability.
•    Lead programs and training as needed to enhance the utilities’ reliability culture at the plant sites. 
•    Guides and works with water treatment suppliers to ensure quality support is maintained and value is delivered to the company.
•    Works to create and maintain utilities excellence model documents.
•    Act as a liaison with engineers, operations, specialists, and other cross functional teams to implement or develop potential utility’s reliability improvements.
•    Makes recommendations for long term utilities reliability improvements (including improvements that may be transferred to the capital project team).
•    Works as a capital program owner to review projects for proper scope, justification and ensure proper implementation of utility projects.
•    As a direct member of the Global Reliability Group, ensure required processes, procedures, and standards are followed at the local site level.  
•    Utilize your current skills and experience by leading utilities systems assessments to assist with identification of improvement opportunities in equipment reliability, process, and management systems, as well as assist the sites in the development of these improvement programs.
•    Track and help to ensure cooling tower structural integrity.
•    Work with chemical injection skid and poly tank suppliers to drive quality and standardization.
•    Participate and/or lead Operational Excellence audits on a rotational basis.

Min. Qualifications

Education:
• BS in Chemical Engineering or other appropriate engineering degree (e.g., mechanical, electrical).

Work Experience: 
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in refining, petrochemical plant industry, or an industrial plant (e.g., mineral processing), 15+ years preferred.
• Must demonstrate a working knowledge of applicable codes/standards and their application (e.g., ASME, CTI, VGB, etc.).
• A thorough knowledge of operating processes, equipment, and materials of construction.
• General knowledge of project management, reliability engineering, and root cause analysis.
• Ability to work well in a team setting with others to drive change and influence site leadership.
