For our largest European production site in Wesseling/Knapsack near Cologne, we are looking for a

 

Planning & Scheduling SME EAI (f/m/d)

 

The EAI Planning and Scheduling SME will be responsible to drive improvement in the planning and scheduling of maintenance work across Lyondellbasell’s EAI manufacturing sites. Improve planning accuracy and effectiveness and ensure that planning and scheduling processes and tools are implemented and used at all sites. Identify the best planning and scheduling strategy to maximize productivity and time on tools for each type of maintenance contract (Time & Materials, Unit Rate, mini-Lump sum etc…). Direct engagement with site maintenance planners and schedulers to improve the efficiency of the planning and scheduling process, share best practices, and develop solutions to common problems. Additionally this role will work to identify, track and report key metrics to monitor the quality and effectiveness of planning and scheduling. This role will also lead the Planning and Scheduling network and will work in close collaboration with the SAP analyst and site maintenance organizations to standardizing the way that the company uses SAP. Partner with the Digital team in GBS to implement solutions and tools that will improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our planning and scheduling processes to reduce cost and/or add value to LyondellBasell.

 

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

 

  • Analyze the planning and scheduling process at the sites and identify gaps compared to MOWP
  • Assess the organization at the sites in terms of planning/scheduling capabilities (resources, staffing, skills, etc..) and identify improvement areas
  • Review the gaps in the planning and scheduling area, and work with the sites to close them by proposing solutions and/or supporting the sites in the implementation of the corrective actions
  • Develop set of methodologies and best practices to produce accurate time and cost estimates through the use of standards, planning norms, dedicated software and/or experience (both in Time & Materials and Unit Rate contracts)
  • Develop procedures and training packages to improve planning and scheduling quality at the sites, including detailed step by step instructions to accomplish the work, required materials, tools, equipment’s, all necessary pre-job steps (e.g. scaffolding, etc.) and job specific safety precautions
  • Re-establish and drive the Maintenance Planning and Scheduling Network
  • Identify metrics (KPIs) to assess planning and scheduling quality
  • Monitor sites’ planning and scheduling performance using the identified metrics, evaluate trends, and work with the sites to develop and implement corrective and improvement actions

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil or Electrical or similar) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 15 years of chemical plant or refinery operations or maintenance experience is preferred
  • 10 years’ experience in a maintenance planning/scheduling role in an a chemical plant or refinery
  • Direct work experience with various types of vendor contracts, including Unit Rate, Time & Materials, Lumpsum and Mini-Lumpsum
  • Very good knowledge of the main planning and scheduling software, like: Primavera, Prometheus Scheduler, Microsoft Project, etc.
  • Proficiency with SAP PM (Plant Maintenance) and MM (Material Management) modules. PS (Project System) module preferred but not required.
  • Sound working knowledge of company policies, plant maintenance, reliability, planning and scheduling, SAP and health, safety, and environmental requirements
  • Exhibit strong communication skills and ability to develop consensus and drive change through plant organizations
  • Ability to network and work cross-functionally with Operations, Technology, Maintenance, and Training organization
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other personnel including operators, technicians, vendors, and contractors
  • Ability to travel domestically and globally up to 15% of the time.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills required in both English and another European language at choice between German, French, Italian, Spanish and Dutch. Knowledge of a third language is preferred, but not required.
