For our German site in Wesseling near Cologne, we are looking for a

 

Maintenance Area Manager (m/f/d) Third Parties and Utilities

 

 

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Actively drive and communicate the transformation forward and positively guide their team through the transition.
  • Drive culture and tools for transformation, such as Value Enhancement Program, forward with great motivation.
  • Learn from experience and thinks outside the box to drive the company forward.
  • Participate as a member of the Site Operation Team, implementing the site´s business plan and asset strategy into local action
  • Work closely with other stakeholders on site to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, value, synergies and cost savings
  • Be responsible for efficient, effective and sustainable maintenance performance in terms of:
    • HSE performance, in-house staff and contractors
    • Reliability of all plants and facilities in the area of responsibility
    • Maintenance budget, including expense projects, program maintenance for the production areas, including cost controlling on a regular basis
    • Fixed cost budget, managing own cost center
    • CAPEX projects including forecast accuracy on monthly, quarterly and yearly basis
    • Technical status of the plants in compliance with legal requirements, European and national rules and regulations
    • Implementation of LYB engineering standards and guidelines, where appropriate
    • Implementation of Operational Excellence Directives advisories and special emphasis programs, budgeting, engineering and timely implementation 
    • Manage the Management of Change Process (MOC)
    • Line Management of ~ 53 people (in-house employees) and contractors
  • Establish and manage an operational culture in which employee health, safety, environmental stewardship, Inclusive mindset and operational excellence are top priorities
  • Accountable for management, training, appraisal and development of maintenance staff, including promotion of flexibility and overall performance across the whole maintenance organization within site maintenance strategy, accountable for contractor management including contractor performance appraisals

 

Qualifications

  • University degree / Master's degree in mechanical engineering, process engineering, electrical engineering or automation technology or equivalent
  • More than 10 years of experience in manufacturing
  • Broad understanding of maintenance processes, materials, corrosion and welding topics, or electrical or automation engineering topics of industrial equipment to be able to solve technical problems in depth and perform root cause analysis
  • Excellent communication and networking skills
  • Fluency in both German and English
