QC Lab Technician, Warrington Plant
Basic Function
Responsible for checking that products meet necessary quality standards, conducting routine testing and inspection of raw materials and finished products in accordance with the inspection plan and all administration and documentation is completed to the required standards.
Roles & Responsibilities
- To assist quality manager ensure finished products are inspected according to standards and to identify defective production not suitable for release in a timely fashion.
- To learn the use of test equipment and to understand their international standards in order to preform and report accurate tests on materials and finished products.
- Responsible for checking that products meet national and international quality standards with the authority to stop production where non conformity arises.
- Routine testing and inspection of raw materials and finished products in accordance with the inspection plan and all associated administration and documentation.
- Conducting routine calibration of test equipment.
- To assist quality manager ensure Cofoam products are inspected according to standards and to identify defective production not suitable for release.
- To complete all administrational and labelling requirements associated to Cofoam production according to standards.
- To assist quality manager ensure raw material deliveries are inspected & released according to standards and to identify defective materials not suitable for consumption.
- To learn the use of injection moulding machines and apply this knowledge to prepare test specimens according to internal and international standards.
- To assist Quality manager/ Laboratory manager in other activities not limited to Cofoam testing & inspection.
- To assist PAD developer achieve development lab objectives when required.
Person Specification
Work Experience:
- 1-2 years’ experience in quality control or laboratory environment, preferably within polymer manufacturing industry.
Skills:
- Experience of injection moulding and polymer extrusion

Good analytical skills with a good understanding of test equipment and methods for the polymer industry.
- Good problem solving skills.
- Good skills in communicating internally within quality team and across operational departments.
Min. Qualifications
- Minimum GCSE’s in Mathematics, English and Science subjects
Terms and Conditions
We offer an attractive compensation package, dependant on skills & experience, and participation in the Company’s discretionary short-term incentive (bonus) programme. Currently, the full-year target bonus for this position is 6% of base salary.
The holiday entitlement is 25 days/annum plus bank holidays
