BASIC FUNCTION

Color engineer works on the development of color masterbatch products used in packaging, electronic appliance, consumer, agriculture and industrial applications. The personnel is requested to work under supervisory of color supervisor on product development projects to fulfill customer requirements and generate business profitability.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Contributes to a safe work environment aligned with corporate standards and expectations to achieve Goal Zero target.
  • Support the color masterbatch business growth strategies by developing of new or modified differentiated products, applications, or processes to meet market.
  • New products/formula registration and support production scale up.
  • Provide guidance to procurement in respect to supplier selection and alternate sources of key raw materials. Actively working on new raw material development and raw material portfolio optimization.
  • Provide supporting documents such as a provisional technical data sheet on the approved/new products, composition declaration.
  • Assist in development of, and support and adhere to, the quality management system and design and development procedures to meet ISO requirements.
  • Awareness of ISO 14001:2015, environmental policy, the significant environmental aspects and related actual or potential environmental impacts associated with the work. Contribute to the effectiveness of the implementation of the Environmental Management System, including the benefits of enhanced environmental performance.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or degree in polymer and material science will be preferable.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • At least 5 years of experience in the color masterbatch or color compounding industry.
  • Good color matching skills and Polymer formulation knowledge is mandatory. Polymer testing knowhow is a plus.

CRITICAL SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine correspondence effectively and to speak fluently with China customers.
