We are seeking to recruit a Maintenance Planner in Carrington. 
Our Carrington site is located approximately 10 miles from the City of Manchester, England, and covers an area of 300 acres. The site began operations in 1949, and today produces polypropylene resins used for a wide variety of products. Our polypropylene plant produces resins for use in carpet fibers, ropes and textiles, molded products such as food containers, crates, chairs, car components and film for many packaging applications

Basic Function

The basic function of this role, with the Maintenance & Operations Work Process (MOWP),  is to develop, maintain and communicate a workable schedule according to work requirements provided by operation and maintenance resource availability.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the PMC on emergent notifications raised on priority ranking.
  • Raise maintenance requests along with associated orders in SAP. 
  • Development of purchase orders and service entry sheets.
  • Lead and develop weekly schedules in Maintenance & Operations Work Process (MOWP), based on negotiated production unit priorities and current business environment to provide visibility and optimise the use of available resources.  Reactive, Preventive and Routine Maintenance work are planned in ahead of time/due dates.
  • Distribute and communicate the maintenance schedule to the affected parties (Maintenance. Operations, Contractors) as per site procedure.
  • Together with the Maintenance Supervisor adjust the day to day Maintenance schedules as necessary to accommodate changing production priorities or available resources and re-communicate.
  • Provide coaching to Planners on quality of job plan logic.
  • Ensure resource availability is maintained in SAP master data as per input from Maintenance supervision.
  • Assessment and planning of all inspection activities for Mechanical, Electrical, control/Instrumentation and Civil inspection work packages, contributing towards the timely completion and a drive to ensuring compliance with site targets and KPI’s.   
  • Collaborate and plan work scope generated from the inspection reporting system across all disciplines.
  • Identify workflows for improvement and challenge deviation from plan with support of line manager.
  • Support planning process for Projects as appropriate.
  • Development of the annual Maintenance shutdown plan for all departments and disciplines.  Tracking of progress and identify mitigation measures to ensure programmed works our kept on track.
  • Create and maintain a planning folder for shutdowns ensuring that learnings gained are recorded such that shutdown planning activities can be continually improved
  • Liaise and coordination with external contractors when required services on site.

Person Specification

Education:

  • Apprenticeship NVQ Level 3, HNC/D / Bachelors Degree Preferred

Work Experience: 

  • Knowledge of area equipment & maintenance activities
  • 10+ years’ experience in planning & coordinating engineering activities on top tier COMAH sites

Skills:

  • Good understanding and usage of SAP including using the planning board to develop rolling schedules
  • Good general IT skills incl. Microsoft Project / Primavera P6
  • Ability to organise maintenance resources & activities across all disciplines
  • Good understanding of safe working practices

Terms and Conditions

Starting salary is negotiable commensurate with experience.
We offer a generous package including an annual bonus opportunity of 10%, based on company, site and individual performance
Working hours are 5 days/week, Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm with a half hour unpaid break for lunch.
25 days' paid holiday per year plus bank holidays increasing to 29 with service.
