Established in 1949 and located just 10 miles from Manchester, the Carrington site spans 70 hectares and has long been a center of industrial excellence. It’s home to a polypropylene plant producing resins used in carpet fibers, molded products, packaging films, and automotive components. The site is recognized for:

The Site Manager will be responsible for managing the Carrington Site while providing the leadership necessary to ensure the development and implementation of strategies and policies. Liaise with relevant stakeholders and legislative bodies, councils & communities.

A Day in the Life
As Site Manager, you’ll lead a historic and high-performing facility. You’ll be responsible for:
- Strategic Leadership: Align site operations with corporate vision and goals. Drive continuous improvement and innovation.
- Safety & Sustainability: Champion GoalZero performance and environmental stewardship.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee staffing, compliance, budgeting, and performance metrics.
- Community Engagement: Represent the site with pride, liaising with councils, industry groups, and local stakeholders.
- Global Collaboration: Participate in regional leadership teams and translate strategy into local action.
- Contract Management: Oversee SUMF agreements and services for neighboring companies.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Establish and manage site culture in which safety, environmental stewardship and operational excellence are the top priorities. Translate high level HSE strategy to local site objectives that develop and maintain adherence to site GoalZero performance and culture.
- Assure the site is appropriately staffed with well-trained personnel to effectively and efficiently support the needs of the business. Maintain short, medium and long-term view on departmental succession planning.
- Manage the operational and business aspects of the site in compliance with corporate needs; provincial and local laws and regulations; applicable quality standards; and Responsible Care.
- Assure the costs stay within the budget with a cost-conscious culture.
- Promote initiatives that create value and efficiency gain.
- Maintain a positive image of the site and the company in the community by serving on appropriate boards and engaging industry associations.
- Develop, implement and promote continuous improvement initiatives in site performance congruent with business priorities.
- Manage the development and control of annual operations and capital budgets for the site.
- Develop and implement improvements at the site utilising benchmark references.
- Participate as a member of the appropriate Company regional Operational Leadership Team in translating company vision and strategy into local actions.
- Develop Site Key Performance Indicators and reporting capabilities that ensure financial results.
- Build a strong site organization by mentoring with an emphasis on role staff development and career planning activities.
- Manage Services, Utilities, Materials & Facilities (SUMF)/Contract agreements for the provision of services to other companies within the Carrington complex and neighbouring third parties.

You Bring This Value
Education:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering or sciences or related field.
Work Experience:
- Proven leadership in manufacturing operations, with a strong track record of managing complex, safety-critical production environments.
- Demonstrated success in senior management roles, overseeing large teams and driving operational excellence.
- Experience with international assignments and comfort working in multicultural environments, combined with a solid understanding of site processes and infrastructure preferred.
Critical Skills/Behaviours:
- Demonstrates skill in managing a safe production environment for high productivity, high quality, and cost efficiency.
- Ability to formulate and implement strategies to reach the business goals and value creation.
- Customer centricity focus to deliver high quality products and services.
- Understanding of governmental regulations pertaining to Health, Safety and the Environment.
- Understanding of financial concepts associated with the business and site performance, including familiarity with fixed and variable cost analysis, margin analysis, capital and operation expenditures.
- Deep understanding of Capex management, prioritization and selection with 5 to 10 years vision.
- Skill in collaborative problem-solving, to help reconcile seemingly disparate priorities and demands.
- Develops partnership with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and stakeholders to grow capabilities and deliver results.
- Drives innovation to generate impactful improvement, and advance ideas into action challenging the status quo.
- Promotes an inclusive work environment to ensure that the capabilities and insights of all individuals are valued and included in ways that lead to organizational success.
Languages:
- Good technical and commercial English language skills are essential. Knowledge of other languages is useful.
