As part of our activities, we are looking for a Technical Service Engineer (F/M) for our petrochemical site in Berre.
General Responsabilities
Supports rapid commercialization of a portfolio of innovation and product improvement projects in the APS segments; giving technical advice to customers in respect of most effective use and processing of LyondellBasell’s products; provide input and gather necessary technical and market trend information to contribute to continuous value creation and identification of opportunities for innovation and grade range optimization. Contributes with technical support in complaint handling.
The position is 100% home office, with a mandatory French location.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Provides high quality, effective technical support to assigned commercial accounts under own responsibility.
• Resolves technical customer complaints in a timely manner.
• Advises and supports in selecting and processing APS materials, for new project/materials and as follow up of product application complaints.
• Conducts regular visits at plants, tech departments, quality managers of customers to develop strong relationship at plant level and local technical departments, to learn customer needs, to identify business opportunities and to propose APS solutions if required attends trials to support the customer.
• Works closely together with Sales, Marketing, NBD and PAD.
• Works with customers to ensure the effective introduction of new products through trial/testing support and promotion of product’s benefits. Translates laboratory and business support development projects into meaningful value propositions for customers.
• Management Reporting
• Acts as project owner for agreed customer specific projects.
• Ensures that customers’ requirements are appropriately reflected in manufacturing specifications, while supporting efforts for grade portfolio cost and supply chain optimization by working with customers to promote manufacturing optimization.
• Identifies the customers’ future product and application technology needs, translates these into measurable property characteristics and communicates these needs within the APS organization.
• Develop and manage the introduction of new and improved products into the market in co-ordination with R&D, marketing and asset management. Support planning and execution of MPC’s and subsequent customer trials/approvals.
• Establish strong network with internal and external key stakeholders including leading customers, machine manufacturers, research institutes and OEM’s - opinion makers, key stakeholders and industry forums.
• Oversee the maintenance of product specifications, product data sheets, PSB and provision of data as required for other product stewardship or legislative matters. Ensure data on customer portal is of high quality and current.

Min. Qualifications

Education :
• University or college degree (or equivalent) in other scientific or technical (preferably polymer) area
• Master degree or Bachelor with experience
Work Experience :
• 2-3 years of experience in sales, technical service or a comparable position within customer contact.
Licenses & Certifications :
• Basic IT capabilities (e-mail, SAP R3, EXCEL, WORD, POWERPOINT, SFDC)
• Driving license

• Excellent application and product related technical skills
• Knowledge of plant and processes, products, customers and their applications.
• Problem solving, getting things done, communication and sharing and working with others.
• Personal drives inquiry and collaboration. High customer orientation
• Knowledge and understanding of the APS Quality Management Procedures and the APS policies on Product Risk Management.
• Experience in processing and application technologies in the Consumer & Industrial sector, par example E&E, Appliances, Building & Construction, Agriculture, Packaging and Masterbatches (additives, white, black, colors, flame retardants,…).
• Experience in application development and technical service.
• Experience in cross-functional projects and resource management.
