Basic Function

The Head of Procurement, Asia Pacific  role will be responsible for successfully leading the Asia Pacific region for the Procurement organization and reports directly to the Chief Procurement Officer.  The Head of Procurement, Asia Pacific  will coordinate external procurement activities, monitor procurement KPIs against strategic goals, support sharing of best practices, internal collaboration, communications knowledge sharing and compliance with category management processes.  The Head of Procurement, AP ensures that regional procurement plans are developed and executed in support of strategic business and Global Procurement and Utilities objectives.  Shape the business strategies and processes to ensure that sourcing initiatives are aligned to current and future business needs. 

Roles & Responsibilities
  • The position is a member Global Procurement and Utilities leadership team and works closely with Asia Pacific leadership team to support $4B of revenue in a high dynamic region
  • Leading the Asia Pacific procurement team in the development and implementation of category management strategy and process. Procurement strategy will be aligned to the Global Procurement and Utilities and corporate-wide strategic objectives
  • Works to influence suppliers and internal stakeholders (at all levels) to source materials and services in a comprehensive and creative fashion to bring value and low total cost of ownership
  • Build out Asia Center of Excellence model and deliver services to other regions
  • Collaborating and partnering with suppliers to accelerate innovation development and create additional advantages for the company
  • Manages performance analysis and benchmarking processes for costs in the business
  • Primary point of contact to develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships
  • Responsible for inclusion of Legal group for contract development and contract dispute resolution
  • Additional duties assigned as required
Min. Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Business Administration or related field
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience, with at least 8 years of progressively increased leadership responsibility. 
  • Strong leadership acumen and the ability to effectively interact with senior leaders and large teams to influence outcomes.
  • Proven success in strategic sourcing and strategic supplier relationship management
  • Experience with best-in-class procurement principles including 7-step sourcing, lean principles, design-for-cost, should cost analysis or similar methodologies and tools to drive continuous improvement.
  • Experience in building effective sourcing strategies across a wide range of categories while involving all relevant business stakeholders.


Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or Master’s degree
  • Experience working in a multi-national company, managing in multicultural environments, and conducting international business
  • Procurement and sourcing experiences in global organization with manufacturing assets
  • Commercial experience in conducting large scale deals
  • Background includes leadership roles in procurement/sourcing.
