Basic Function

Lead the sales effort of Polyolefins in Asia to optimize results to LYB and to the Supply Sources (including Joint Ventures) for immediate and long term value. Sales will be of four main product groups including PP, PE, and also include main markets such as Medical, Pipe, Packaging, Flexibles, Fibres/Textiles, Appliances. Lead and develop the sales staff and manage the appointed resellers.   

Roles & Responsibilities

•    Lead a team of professionals responsible for sales of all polyolefins sourced from around the world to Rest of Asia (except China) with the aim to realize superior value, develop the market for future investments, return to LYB and to the supply companies
•    Maximize returns, manage receivables and optimize working capital exposure
•    Support the development and lead the implementation of a regional sales & marketing strategy which coordinates with other regions within LYB , all supply sources including joint venture companies and other business units
•    Lead the management of agent representation which operates under a LYB Commercial Representation Agreement, and distributor channel which complements LYB’s direct sales to converters
•    Lead the sales team to work in partnership with the ADTSI (Application Development, Technical Service and Innovation) team to help with the development and implementation of new products, product mix improvements and product performance enhancement
•    Support and work closely with regional JV’s to fulfill LYB responsibilities as their exclusive or sole agents
•    Support product stewardship in the region to ensure regulatory compliance and to support the promotion activities in marketing PO products
•    Oversee the sales activities and ensure the risk management (including product risk, credit/payment risk, liability risk) is understood and properly exercised by all team members in conducting their day-to-day activities, in line with company policies and risk minimization.  

Min. Qualifications

Education:
•    Tertiary qualifications, preferably in sciences or engineering but not essential

Work Experience: 
•    Minimum 15 years commercial experience is mandatory
•    Minimum 5 years managerial experience at departmental head level
•    Demonstrated ability to:
o    develop a sales team to optimize returns through awareness of market drivers
o    to implement sales strategies and action plans including: channels to market, collecting market intelligence, knowledge of application and markets and new market developments. 
•    Ability to manage credit risk profile whilst maximizing returns. 
•    Product knowledge preferred
