Operations Planner
Basic Function
• Produces and executes China Volume Operating Plannings for responsible products to support Businesses in implementing their business plans of selling PO & SM products in the China markets to generate revenues and profits for the company
• Responsible Demand Planning, Inventory Planning Management and Product Sourcing for PO & SM in China
• Provide support to logistics operation functions and manage logistics vendors in China
Roles & Responsibilities
• Coordinate with supply source to get monthly PO & SM production volume plan and work with China Sales and Business/Market management team to develop sales plan
• Negotiates and secures PO & SM supply from supply source
• Consolidate next day delivery plan to communicate with supply source for off-take preparation to ensure a smooth delivery plan and process
• According to supply source production volume to create consignment purchase orders in SAP and monitor GR completion
• Identify sales plan accuracy versus supply trend and take appropriate actions to ensure supply / demand balance is under control
• Work and coordinate with Logistics Operations Manager and team to ensure appropriate logistics infrastructure and containment are in place in time to meet customer and business requirements
• Support and manage logistics vendors; logistics platform, trucking, bulk vessel and terminal’s contract process for PO & SM
• Manager inventory in the third party terminal and bulk vessel nomination for inventory movement
• Produces monthly China PO & SM VOP to determine supply sourcing requirements and inventory levels
• Coordinate with Lead Operation Planner for Asia PO supply/demand balance, swap/exchange agreement and optimization
• Facilitate efforts on supply sourcing related issue resolution and root cause analysis
• Report the daily/weekly/monthly statistics and reports
Personal Specification
Education:
University / college degree preferably in economics, business administration or relevant discipline of finance or supply chain
Work Experience:
• Minimum 8 years experiences working in multi-national company in several Supply Chain functions (customer service, shipping, distribution, procurement)
• Knowledge of international trade or supply chain functions preferably on Logistics Operations Procedures
Critical Competencies/ Behaviors
• Good understanding of LyondellBasell's business processes and operational procedures
• Manage the delivery aspects in an Distribution hub of obscure rules and constantly changing distribution patterns
• Exercise strong communication skills internally and externally in order to achieve the objectives of the Supply Chain functions
• Creative in developing cost saving programs to meet the business strategy, increase efficiency, and align procedures.
• Strict compliance with local regulation, Distribution Standard and procedures, operating guidelines, and company Internal Control Policies & Procedures.
• Special attention is also required to ensure the adherence to the Logistics Code of Practice as well as conforming to corporate commitment to Responsible Care & product Stewardship
• Regular training and review will be essential to ensure smooth distribution operations are carried out
• Strong interface with Customer Service, Ops, Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain Management group
• Externally, a constant dialogue will be necessary with a diverse range of contracted services and logistics service providers.
