New BD Manager, Consumer

Basic Function

The purpose of the job is to support the implementation BU’s overall commercial strategy to expand LyondellBasell APS Compounds business in emerging markets. This position will be strongly focusing on new business development through driving innovative products and applications, setting up and managing the new business pipelines to improve either project profitability or market share of assigned market sectors / applications, including commercial or engineering vehicles, railway, machinery, furniture, E&E, power tools, house appliance, persona care & hygiene, sports & leisure, thermal forming, and blow molding applications with a tailor-made product portfolio and customer oriented services.

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Overall to support marketing team to build up innovative pipelines to achieve 1MM US$ CM1 Plus
  2. Business Development
    • Identify and define key opportunities and innovations with the corresponding OEMs and processors based on a deep technical understanding of applications and requirements;
    • Explore new requirements and trends with different customers with focus on consumer emerging markets including furniture, E&E, power tools ,house appliance, personal care & hygiene, sports & leisure, thermal forming, and blow molding applications with a tailor-made product portfolio and customer oriented services; 
    • Manage the interfaces with appropriate Regional Sales Representatives, Key Account Manager, Product Development, Product and Supply Management for the key programs;
    • Interact between key OEMs and project related processors based on high knowledge of the product properties and process.
  3. Strategy Development
    • Develop key OEMs account strategy with strong liaison to the sales team in terms of key application and positioning of the product portfolio, and price management;
    • Develop marketing strategy on innovative applications. 
  4. Strategy Execution
    • Develop and manage key OEMs customer relationship and support sales team to work out marketing concepts following key processors strategy;
    • Monitor key OEMs account Market Share and project related processors; 
    • Perform business analysis for key OEMs accounts or key processors. 
  5. Marketing Support
    • Support routine reports: APS Compounds report (monthly), business intelligence (by-week), consumer related production and sales statistics (monthly), customer visit report etc.; 
    • Engaged in other business activities such as APS Compounds commercial review and customer events. 
  6. Product Stewardship
    • Assess new applications in compliance with LYB policies to mitigate liability exposure caused by either application or products. 
  7. HSE
    • Recognize and operate in accordance with all safety policies internally and when traveling. 

Personal Specification

Education:

  1. University bachelor degree in engineering (Polymer Science is preferred); Master in technology or MBA is a plus. 

Work Experience: 

  1. 5 Years’ experience in chemical industry, business development, commercial background, and project management; an engineering material compounds industry background is preferable; 
  2. Deep knowledge in engineering material compound products and related processing technology; Good knowledge on tooling, injection molding, thermal forming and blow molding is preferred; 
  3. Chemical or polymer industry background is preferred.
