Logistics Operation Specialist

Basic Function

  • Establish and maintain an efficient logistics operation to support the PO RMB business in I&D China
  • Manage and handle local delivery services
  • Provide support to ensure the daily logistics operation functions are conducted smoothly and efficiently in China
  • Manage China Logistics vendors

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Monitor RMB transaction and allocation for outgoing deliveries
  • Logistics Platform system setting up, executions and maintenances for daily delivery arrangement
  • Balance the delivery volume in average by each trucking company and assign the daily delivery operation works
  • Work out with trucking companies to develop road route from Terminal or Sourcing plant loading station to customer plant site and safety program
  • Work out with CS, terminal and sourcing plant loading stations and trucking companies to ensure a smooth delivery plan and process, also conduct safety audit periodontally
  • Monitor, assess performance of contractors, identify and implement improvement programs and also hold regular co-ordination meeting when needed
  • Facilitate efforts on logistics related QN resolution and root cause analysis
  • Work closely and interface with inter-department especially the Finance, Sales & Marketing and Customer Services
  • Logistics cost saving initiatives and monitoring
  • Develop and manager partner relationships with service suppliers
  • Implement Logistics Compliance and upgrade Distribution Standards with LSP
  • Report the weekly/monthly statistics

Min. Qualifications

Education:

University / college degree preferably in international trade/ Supply Chain or equivalent

 

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years experiences working in multi-national company in International Trade or Supply Chain functions  (customer service, logistics; procurement)
  • Knowledge of international trade or supply chain functions preferably on Logistics Operations Procedures

Other Skills:

 

  1. Logistics & warehouse arrangement skills in China
  2. Good command of MS Office suite of products, experience of SAP(Materials, Inventory modules)

 

Languages:

  • Fluent in English and Mandarin written and spoken.

  • Manage the delivery aspects in an Distribution hub of obscure rules and constantly changing distribution patterns
  • Exercise strong communication skills internally and externally in order to achieve the objectives of the Supply Chain functions

  • Strict compliance with local regulation, Distribution Standard and procedures, operating guidelines, and company Internal Control Policies & Procedures.
  • Special attention is also required to ensure the adherence to the Logistics Code of Practice as well as conforming to corporate commitment to Responsible Care & product Stewardship
  • Regular training and review will be essential to ensure smooth distribution operations are carried out
  • Strong interface with Customer Service, Ops, Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain Management group
  • Externally, a constant dialogue will be necessary with a diverse range of contracted services and logistics service providers.
