Licensing Support Manager

Basic Function

The purpose of this role is to develop the sales growth at the customer, increase total value creation, and improve customer satisfaction of LyondellBasell’s technologies. The position holder is responsible for the necessary support work to the Regional Licensing Managers and the Operations & Technical Support Manager. 
The position contributes in building and maintaining trustful relationships with Licensees, thus promoting LYB’s reputation as a professional Licensor and creating the basis for future Licensing and Services opportunities. Includes, but not limited to:
• Coordinate and support Technical Proposal Meetings and Kick-off Meetings with necessary interpreter work
• Monitor the progress of signed License Agreement and support the communication in project execution, facilitate communication with customer on invoice payment
• Assist the arrangement of Technical Services during PSSR, Commissioning, Startup and Performance Test Run period
• Coordinate logistics for courier and samples (originals of License Agreement, contracts, CDAs, invoice tracking) and support document archive management
• Necessary internal communication with Technology Managers, Process Design and Technology Transfer 
• Participation in necessary internal and external business procedure for selected projects, such as Stage Gate meetings, commercial negotiations etc.
• Gather market intelligence through various activities, such as conference, customer visit and Industry Report study
• Coordinate the development of new business opportunities, such as chemical licenses with the guidance by Licensing Manager and Marketing Manager
• As required, coordinate auditing of Chinese Design Institutes (engineering contractors) to check compliance with existing confidentiality agreements

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Coordination internally and externally to ensure all the following projects are well supported
  • Support the arrangement of Technical Proposal submission and TP meeting together with Licensing Managers
  • Attend the TP meetings and provide necessary interpreting work with Operation and Technical Support Manager
  • Support documents signature (TP and commercial documents such as CDA, LA and Amendment); coordinate with clients to ensure timely receipts of account receivables
  • Monitor the progress of signed License Agreement of selected licensees, ensure payments are received on schedule
  • To coordinate / follow up the activities associated with the dispatching of Licensor’s personnel to client Sites, for the purposes of technical services.
  • Act in full compliance with LyondellBasell company policies and ethical principles of conducting business

Personal Specification

Education:
1. University degree in Engineering or Chemistry in combination with sound commercial/business 
experience
Work Experience:
1. More than 8 years’ experience of petrochemical industry, preferable in multi-national chemical companies
2. Project experience for petrochemical plants

1. Account Management – in depth understanding of value drivers to customer and capable of matching 
with internal operational and strategic 
2. Technical Knowledge - Looks for opportunities to continuously learn about LYB technologies and 
services to be able to clearly articulate these in a strong value proposition for the customer.

the key messages and engages the audience.
