Account Manager

Basic Function

The incumbent of this role is expected to manage the products sales in China and deliver the budget of I&D products for the territory independently.


Territory:  China


Manage the territory in which individual operates by:

Compliant with safety standards and company policies in the course of conducting business activities assigned to the individual

Devise and propose to Sales Manager execution plan in line with business strategies and performance measurement per product line

Effectively build up and manage the sales channels within the responsible territory

Good negotiation and communications skills, leverage on and appreciate the value of team working model.

Confident, initiative, strong drives for achievement but disciplined, meet sales and expenses targets.

Strong interpersonal skills and be able to maintain good working relationship with key local and global accounts, including contracts negotiation and all commercial and developmental activities coordination.

Be able to facilitate cross-functional coordination relate to account management operations.

Roles & Responsibilities

1) Responsibility for managing all distributor activities within the territory by providing guidance and active support such as joint customer visits.

 2) Develops new end use market for existing and new products when required in collaboration with Technical Service resources coordinated by Supervisor and Business Management.

3) Regularly monitors and reports to Supervisor and Business Managers industry, competitor, customer information and relevant regulatory information to add value for better understanding and anticipation of the Company on market environment, trends, issues, and business opportunities.

4) Implements the endorsed action plan with strong initiatives and minimum supervision, including negotiating pricing and contract terms with customers, and follows up on payment, product delivery and customer complaints in collaboration with Order Fulfillment/Customer Service personnel.

5) Regularly exchanges market information and industry trends with customers, and updates of customers when instructed on significant developments of the Company including product R&D, new application formulations, capacity expansion to keep customers abreast of the updated product and Company information when required.

6) Managing and developing all aspects of the key customer relationships in support of the agreed sales plan for the region - including complaint management

7) Initiating and facilitating cross-functional coordination for projects and customer management issues related to responsible products or territory

Min. Qualifications


University level degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or business related,

         Overseas education/working experience an asset

Work Experience:

Minimum 8 years working experience in which 5 years in chemical sales, preferable in multi-national chemical companies


 Fluent Mandarin and English
