HSE Manager

Basic Function

Responsible to maintain and implementation of HSE Management System. Also ongoing of HSE support, plans, reporting, investigation, assessment audit, training and establish procedures including to ensure compliance with government requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities

HSE Management System    Environmental, Health & Safety
•    To plan, implement and review the effectiveness Environmental, Health and Safety enforcement on rules and regulations especially matter related to technical aspects.
•    Contributes to safe working environment by adhering to Health and Safety practices at work.
•    Develop and distribute in formal and informal communication to increase and enhance the understanding and awareness of HSE issues.
•    Advise management of any system and legislative changes to ensure task are undertaken safely and comply with internal and external requirements.
•    Undertake risk assessments of new or changed plant, chemicals, facilities etc.
•    Monitor accident, hazard reporting system, investigation to ensure the root causes and corrective actions are identified.
•    Develop, coordinate and deliver HSE training programs.


People Management    
•   Identify relevant training needs.
•   Communicate internal policies / practices with all employees.
•   Contribute to the provision of safe working environment by modelling and complying with appropriate safety instructions and behaviours.


Documentation and Equipment control
•    Maintain control of documentation and records.
•    Manage the equipment calibration and verification results to ensure test equipment accuracy.
•    Develop memo, letters to communication and reinforce specific HSE issue to employees.
•    Compile HSE reports to convey information on the HSE performance of the business.
•    Maintain of HSE training records and attendees ensuring that information is filed and matrices are accurate.


Support for General Administration
•    Ensure standard condition in the plant is maintained in terms of Housekeeping, safety, Security aspects etc. 


•    Liaison with external parties (Certification Body, customers, etc) on matters relating to Management System.
•    Prepare declarations reports such to customers.
•    Liaison with government bodies (DOSH, BOMBA, Health Dept.) on matters relating to HSE.

Min. Qualifications

•    Bachelor of any equivalent degree Science Degree Safety, Occupational Health or Environmental Engineering preferred
•    At least 5 years experience in Safety, Occupational Health or Environmental Engineering in manufacturing
•    A Green Book holder will be an added advantage
•    Organizational skills – planning, organizing, execution able to coordinate activities and engage others to achieve results.
•    Ability to communicate professionally with people within all levels of the organization and external party.
•    Judgement and decision making skills, analysis of costs and benefits of changes and recommending the most appropriate action.
•    Analytical skills and problem solving skills.
•    Accountable, results-oriented, and self-motivated; open-minded to challenges
•    Able to manage change and to meet commitments and deadlines.
•   Language skill: Fluent in Bahasa
