Basic Function

Carry out innovation projects that generate new products to provide solutions to our customers and promote business growth. Seek opportunities for new materials that have new or better performance, including sustainable products for a better use of resources.
Validate alternative materials that allow business continuity as well as guarantee the same properties and allow a higher contribution margin or savings. 
Comply with regulations for final product applications. 

Approve the feasibility of new innovation projects, ensuring they have all the input information to carry out their development. 
Technically responsible for formulations in CPC's product ERP system.
Maintain the ERP system with new raw materials and products using them. 
Approval of new raw materials through DQP, generate extensions, PBAUS and creation of PM specifications. 
Program innovation product scale-ups in operation lines. 

Roles & Responsibilities

- Approve the entry of product innovation projects in color project management system (PLM - Accolade), aligned with the business. 
- Make use of existing solutions to use as reference or give prompt response to requests.  
- Evaluate the feasibility of new technologies and look for ways to provide a solution and an answer to the market needs. 
- Detect the use of possible new raw materials for the generation of innovative products. Locate and validate new raw materials that allow us to have alternative materials that can generate savings, new properties, or allow us to participate with sustainable products. 
- Search for sustainable project opportunities aligned with market needs and company objectives. 

-Provide the team responsible for color shading with the basis of raw materials, formulations, additive packages, methodology, evaluations and regulations to generate new shades.
- Validation and maintenance of innovation formulas in the ERP system so that the information is available in the system. As well as changes and updates due to changes in raw materials due to shortages, Product Safety alerts or any special situation. 
- Transfer of products from other sites to global customers (OEM) or opportunities detected by the Business. 
- Technical exchange with other sites for the development of color products or product transfers. 

- Registration and change of PM specifications in electronic system (FSQC).
- Reception of internal and external audits and response to non-conformities. 
- Maintenance of UL products and products specified by customers. 
- Maintenance of products for regulatory notices. 
- Coordinate innovation product testing protocols.
- Analyze data of innovation products after scaling up to pass on assets making their respective standard and specification changes in system and commercial code usage. 
- Inactivation and reactivation of items in ERP to keep it up to date.
- Report intonation metrics within the quality system for improvement actions to be taken if required. Training and performance competency metrics. 
- Put personal safety first in any activity required in the position and drive safety with personnel in contact.
- Definition of colorimetry equipment and intonation software to be used for intonation under global procedures. 
- Technical trainings to personnel. 
- Technical participation in product performance complaints. 
- Make use of external laboratories or research institutions for product or process innovation. 

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Engineer, Chemical or Industrial Bachelor

Areas of Expertise

• Knowledge of color theory and color measurement methodologies.
• Knowledge of pigments and polymer properties for Masterbach and composite formulation. Use of color spectrophotometer.
• Knowledge of Tuning in different polymers (PE, PP, PS, PC, ABS, SAN, PA, EVA, PET, PBT).
• Knowledge of different plastic extrusion processes (injection, blow molding, fiber extrusion, balloon and flat film extrusion, sheet extrusion and thermoforming, raffia, profile extrusion, etc.).
• Personnel administration. Handling of Colibri or other color matching software, ERP software (QAD, BPCS, M3, SAP, etc).
• Knowledge and use of equipment such as: injector, twin screew, injectruders, cast film, sppineret and bottle blowing.
• Product development software (PLM, Accolade). Variables control software for quality monitoring of PT and MP, as well as process monitoring (FSQC).
