As a member of our dynamic Supply Chain team, you will play a critical role in helping us supply our products to a global customer base. In this individual contributor role, you will be responsible for you will be responsible for directing the logistics operations and management of Logistics Service Provider (LSP) services to meet the needs of LyondellBasell from a total cost and service prospective. During a typical day, you will support all logistics operations for warehouse and distribution networks to ensure LyondellBasell is supplied with uninterrupted service. 

A Day in the Life

• Manage domestic warehouse, transload distribution networks, and drayage in support of Mexico Manufacturing operations.
• Act as a main point of contact for Account Specialists, Operations Planners, Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, Logistics Commercial, and third party Logistics Service Providers (LSP) concerning all warehouse, transload, and drayage shipments.
• Manage and effectively control all applicable logistic operations to create competitive advantage in cost and service.
• Lead LyondellBasell efforts to monitor and achieve continuous improvement quality, service, and cost performance; measure non-optimal costs and/or liquidated damages cost.
• Identify and implement cost reduction programs as appropriate.
• Lead or participate in scheduled Logistics Service Provider (LSP) audits as applicable.
• Conduct quarterly reviews with applicable LSPs to review operational performance and metrics.
• Conduct operational meetings as necessary to facilitate good two way communication and to review operational performance and metrics between LYB and the applicable LSP.
• Ensure LyondellBasell is adequately supplied with uninterrupted services at the most favorable competitive value and in all conditions.
• Effectively collaborate with Logistics Business Consultants in the qualification and assessment of suppliers of transportation services to ensure customer service levels are maintained.
• Responsible for monitoring and adjusting to market conditions, new technology, best practices, and trends in supply markets.
• Perform tasks within Quality Notifications ensuring acceptable root cause analysis corrective/preventative action, and timely closure. Record, trend, and communicate monthly performance metrics.
• Understand foreign delivery movements including incoterms, transport documentation, and other necessary requirements to aid the smooth flow of products in the USMCA region.
• Maintain world class transportation knowledge by staying abreast of legislative and regulatory activities and of new developments in transportation through contacts with peers in various carrier and shipper organizations, including SCT and others.
• Control Premium Cost factors associated with extraordinary product shipment.
• Maintain internal processes and procedures to ensure they are still applicable and pertinent.
• Maintain Goal Zero performance on Personal Safety, Logistics Compliance, and Wrong Product Shipped.
• Operate with a solution-oriented mindset with regard to process improvements; Assist with change implementation for extended system improvements or other logistics projects.
• Partner with peers to provide solutions, guidance to resolve logistics export or business related problems.
• Model LyondellBasell core competencies with internal and external customers/suppliers.

You Bring This Value

• The ideal candidate will have at least 1 years’ relevant, industry related experience.
• The ideal candidate will have demonstratable knowledge of order entry systems, tracking systems, delivery planning, rail and truck operations and an understanding of manufacturing capabilities.
• Able to possess good judgment in problem solving, knowledge of company, product movements and inventory, logistics and transportation operations, company products.
• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Will consider candidates with a High School Diploma that have at least 1 years’ relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree
• Willingness to work flexible work schedule is required.
• High initiative and ability to work independently.
• This role is expected to travel and/or attend external events up to 20%.
