The Inventory Planner is responsible for maintaining accurate, strategic, and up-to-date inventory positions for assigned products, business areas, or shipping locations. The role uses analytical tools, enterprise systems, and planning processes to anticipate risks, identify opportunities, and propose solutions that support customer service performance and business objectives.

This position works collaboratively with cross-functional teams across Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing, Commercial, Finance, logistics service providers, and regional stakeholders to enable effective communication regarding product availability, inventory movements, operational constraints, and business requirements.

In addition, this position is expected to collaborate under the LATAM regional structure and priorities, promoting process alignment, best practices, inventory visibility, and internal control compliance. The role also actively participates in the coordination of annual physical inventories, including preparation, follow-up, reconciliation, and evidence documentation required to strengthen inventory reliability and internal process compliance. This position may also support APS inventory planning activities across the United States and Canada, partnering with regional stakeholders to ensure product availability, inventory optimization, service performance, and alignment with business priorities across North America and LATAM.

A Day in the Life

General

  • Manage inventory levels for assigned products, business lines, or shipping locations across LATAM and North America to support internal and external customer requirements, optimize resources, and contribute to customer service objectives.
  • Maintain accurate and timely visibility of available inventory, inventory in transit, third-party storage, or inventory subject to special agreements, ensuring proper follow-up in SAP and related tools.
  • Act as the main point of contact for coordinating product movements related to assigned locations, businesses, or product lines, including inbound, outbound, and transfer movements when applicable.
  • Coordinate and follow up on product availability, inventory constraints, replenishment needs, service risks, and business priorities, communicating impacts, alternatives, and solutions in a timely manner.
  • Work collaboratively under the regions, maintaining alignment with regional Supply Chain guidelines, business priorities, internal controls, and applicable best practices.
  • Participate in the coordination of annual physical inventories, including information preparation, location validation, follow-up with involved areas, evidence collection, variance reconciliation, and closure of related actions.
  • Partner with Inventory Accounting to support accurate inventory reconciliation at month-end close.
  • Facilitate effective communication among logistics service providers, Manufacturing, Operations Planning, Commercial, Finance, and other internal teams to address time-sensitive needs related to product availability, deliveries, inventory, or service.
  • Identify root causes for quality, inventory, service, or operational compliance incidents, supporting problem resolution and involving the appropriate areas as needed.
  • Ensure and maintain the accuracy of master data, materials, planning parameters, and operational information in SAP and extended systems, according to applicable internal processes.
  • Actively participate in process improvement initiatives, Supply Chain projects, automation efforts, operational efficiency activities, internal controls, or tool enhancements related to inventories.
  • Provide support, guidance, and solutions to peers, internal customers, and business areas to resolve matters related to inventory, product availability, order fulfillment, or operational constraints.  
  • Support business growth initiatives by coordinating inventory-related activities required for tolling operations. This includes supporting the setup, creation, extension, maintenance, and governance of tollers, materials, shipping locations, inventory parameters, and related master data elements necessary to enable business requirements and ensure operational readiness across the region.

Education

  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, Finance, or a related field. Equivalent relevant experience may be considered in accordance with Human Resources and departmental criteria.

Languages: Intermediate to advanced English preferred, with the ability to communicate with regional teams, business areas, suppliers, and internal or global contacts.
