HSE Coordinator

Basic Function

Coordinate and execute programs focused on Employee and Environmental Protection, in compliance with local legal and Corporate requirements, in order to establish an adequate work environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Follow up on established environmental programs to maintain the company's certification as a Clean Industry.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements from government agencies and others related to environmental matters to keep the company in legal status.
  • Develop educational materials and provide specific training in accordance with the Safety and Environmental Management System Training Plan to increase staff awareness of self-care and environmental protection.
  • Investigate incidents/near misses alongside personnel from involved areas (Production, Maintenance, Logistics, etc.) to ensure effective communication and the creation of Safety Alerts and Reports, as well as follow-up on actions to guarantee mitigations and prevent recurrence.
  • Identify and analyze safety and hygiene risks, as well as environmental aspects, to anticipate incidents or adverse environmental impacts.
  • Control the handling and identification of chemicals in accordance with applicable regulations to prevent personal and/or environmental incidents.
  • Ensure proper management of hazardous and non-hazardous waste to comply with applicable regulations and minimize environmental damage.
  • Participate in the release of machinery/equipment and new processes to identify, prior to their start-up, safety risks and environmental impacts, and propose actions for containment.
  • Evaluate and certify personnel at workstations regarding Safety, Hygiene, and Environmental matters to prevent occupational risks and reduce environmental impact.
  • Develop, review, and update procedures and instructions related to Safety, Hygiene, and Environmental management to keep information current.
  • Conduct Safety, Health, and Environmental audits to timely detect conditions, unsafe acts, and potential environmental impacts, ensuring company compliance.
  • Participate in Safety Teams such as the Safety and Hygiene Commission, Emergency Brigades, Ergonomics Team, etc., to promote compliance with company obligations and prevent accidents.
  • Supervise contractor companies to ensure they comply with established Safety and Environmental guidelines, maintaining safe working conditions during their stay on-site.
  • Other functions and responsibilities as assigned.

Min. Qualifications

Education

  • Industrial, Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental, Administrative, or related areas.

Work Experience 

  • Safety, Hygiene, and Environmental Coordinator 2 years

Languages: Business English
