This individual will support Communications EMEAI leadership with crisis communications and general media and speaker training programs, ensuring a consistent state of readiness across the Communications EMEAI team. Specifically in the Netherlands, the successful candidate will support leaders in responding effectively during high‑risk situations. This role will report into the Sr. Manager Communications EMEAI.

In addition, this individual will help implement tools and resources in support of growth and development.

A Day in the Life

The Sr. Advisor, Communications will help establish the foundational elements to guide the Communications EMEAI team towards excellence, and will serve as a trusted advisor to regional leadership striving for continuous improvement. This includes setting priorities and guardrails from which communications strategies are developed regionally, and working with the regional communications leadership team to maintain an integrated and consistent approach to strategy development.
This role will also help implement a culture of date-driven decision making and establish key performance indicators to measure success.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:


  • Partners with regional leadership and works with a cross-functional team to develop and implement comprehensive, regional communications strategies that align with our company strategy and goals;
  • Identifies tools and best practices in the communications landscape, and implements new ways of working across the organization to drive continuous improvement;
  • Establishes key performance indicators to measure progress towards teams’ goals, and uses data to measure the effectiveness of our efforts, identify areas for improvement and lead positive change;
  • Translates data into actionable insights, informing communications strategies;
  • Works with the Communications EMEAI leadership team to establish, maintain and update critical processes and procedures and promote adherence;
  • Establishes tools and resources in support of growth and development within the Communications EMEAI team;
  • Evolves the EMEAI crisis communications program, including governance, playbooks, escalation protocols, training programs, and other preparedness activities to support effective, coordinated responses;
  • Acts as (Crisis) Communications lead for the Netherlands, as needed;
  • Owns and coordinates agency support, which includes but is not limited to crisis communications support and speaker and media training.

You Bring This Value

  • A bachelor’s degree is required in journalism, communications or public relations or related field;
  • 8+ years of experience in a related field, required;
  • Fluency in Dutch and near-fluency in English required, additional language preferred.

Demonstrating strong expertise in crisis and high-risk communications, with the ability to assess situations quickly, recommend effective response strategies, and support leaders under pressure. They possess exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, enabling them to clearly explain sensitive or complex topics to diverse audiences. The role also requires the ability to build credibility and collaborate effectively with regional leaders and cross-functional teams while exercising sound judgment in ambiguous or high-pressure situations. A commitment to continuous improvement, along with experience in project or program management within complex organizations, is highly valued.
