This is the role
As the Sustainable Procurement Consultant, ESG Reporting, you will be responsible for leading the preparation of ESG reports and managing data collection processes for Sustainable Procurement. You ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and auditability of ESG information while supporting the implementation of new reporting and disclosure practices. This position serves as a key contact for Sustainable Procurement ESG performance inquiries and collaborates with cross-functional teams to improve ESG reporting processes, ensuring alignment with evolving regulatory requirements and stakeholder expectations.
Responsibilities & accountabilities:
- Lead the preparation of annual ESG reports and responses to ESG information requests for Sustainable Procurement (e.g., CSA, CDP, EcoVadis).
- Oversee data collection process ensuring that data is timely and accurate. Continuously improve the ESG reporting internal control environment to ensure consistent, accurate, and timely ESG information as well as auditable and efficient reporting processes (e.g., CSRD, LKSG, CSDDD).
- Lead identified gap closure initiatives to achieve full ESG reporting compliance for Sustainable Procurement.
- Be the primary point of contact for inquiries regarding annual ESG performance data and information. Effectively support relevant functions with ESG performance information for Sustainable Procurement.
- Identify, advise on, and implement new ESG reporting and disclosure practices, based on a deep understanding of requirements from regulators, investors/lenders, and sustainability actors.

With your attention to detail you ensure auditable data and processes. Your excellent communication skills make you understand the data and able to tell a compelling story, internally and externally. Furthermore you have excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, which allows you to collaborate and influence stakeholders across various levels of the organization as well as in different functions and business units to achieve project goals. You have a consultant and a growth mindset, you can work autonomously and solution-oriented. And are a strategic thinker which makes you able to identify, advise on, and implement new ESG reporting and disclosure practices, based on good practices and a deep understanding of requirements. Last but not least, you’re agile and therefor able to prioritize amid multiple, complex projects.

This is what you bring
- Master’s degree in Sustainability, Finance, Accounting, Business, Management, Communication, or other technical / science-based education.
- 3-5 years’ work experience in the sustainability field, preferably working in consulting or a corporate environment.
- Experience conducting assurance of sustainability/ ESG/ financial reports in audit firms or similar organizations and/or supporting companies to improve ESG reporting internal control environments.
- Excellent understanding of ESG reporting and disclosure requirements (legal/standards) and trends.
- Good understanding of the chemical or similar industry is preferred.
- Strong command of English, additional European languages preferred
