At LyondellBasell, we are driving the future of sustainable operations through innovation and strategic risk management. We are seeking a Senior Enterprise & Sustainability Risk Analyst to join our corporate Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team in Rotterdam. This role is pivotal in helping the company navigate both enterprise risks and sustainability challenges, particularly within the Europe, Middle East, and Asia Pacific (EMEA) region. You will ensure that our strategic objectives align with regional considerations, creating long-term value while meeting our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a strategic business partner, working closely with the Enterprise Risk Manager, various business units, and senior leaders to integrate risk management into business processes, focusing on both enterprise and sustainability risks.
- Lead and support efforts to identify, assess, and prioritize risks and opportunities across the organization, applying analytical techniques and leveraging quantitative data to ensure a comprehensive and robust risk profile.
- Support the integration of sustainability considerations, including ESG reporting requirements, carbon capture initiatives, and climate change risk assessment, into our Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework.
- Develop tools, practices, and policies to analyze, manage, and report risks in alignment with the ERM framework.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of risk mitigation strategies, continuously monitoring the effectiveness of risk controls and adapting approaches as necessary to address emerging risks.
- Conduct scenario planning and stress testing to evaluate the potential impact of various risk factors on the organization’s objectives, incorporating insights into decision-making processes.
- Utilize analytical skills to interpret complex data, provide insights, and support risk-based decision-making across the organization.
- Monitor industry trends, emerging risks, and best practices to ensure comprehensive risk management and proactively identify new opportunities.
- Prepare clear and concise reports that communicate risk findings and recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making.
- Equip teams with the knowledge and tools to apply risk management processes in their daily roles, ensuring they are informed decision-makers and fully aware of their responsibilities to identify, understand, and manage key risks within their scope.
- Drive continuous improvement in ERM practices, ensuring that the company remains at the forefront of managing both enterprise and sustainability risks and opportunities.

This is what you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Finance, Economics, Actuarial Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A graduate degree with a focus on data science, sustainability, or a related discipline is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a professional environment, with substantial exposure to enterprise risk management and sustainability domains.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis, risk modeling techniques, and quantitative analysis tools. Familiarity with enterprise and climate change risk management software or platforms is advantageous but not required.
- A solid understanding of mathematical principles, including statistics and probability theory, is beneficial for assessing risk in a structured and data-driven manner.
- Demonstrated interest in sustainability, particularly in areas like ESG management and reporting, carbon management, and climate risk.
