This is the role

The Finance Assistant manages the accurate and timely execution of the support fulfillment process for Finance Managers and their departments in the LBR office.

The Finance Assistant is the main point of contact for all operational, administrative and process issues. This encompasses tasks such as travel & expense, SAP transactions, invoice coordination/management, calendar management, personnel onboarding, complex meeting scheduling, (social)-event planning, employee/contractor management and any other daily supporting (administrative) tasks. Finance specific tasks such as annual financial report coordination/filling and support to external audit team (PWC) is also seen as a key task.
Understanding our company dynamics, best practices, applications and their interactions together with participating in interdepartmental Finance projects and sharing knowledge as Subject Matter Expert are key functions for this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
 

  • Delivers highest quality service to Finance management by handling requests in a timely and professional manner in order to ensure long term value creation for the company while increasing internal customer satisfaction;
  • Act as primary interface with Finance management in order to serve the customer in the most efficient and effective way in order to maximize value for LyondellBasell and ensure effective interfaces with partner functions;
  • Develops strong relationships with key stakeholders (vendors, (internal)-customers, business, Legal, HR, IDC etc.) and builds an effective network;
  • Ensures formal governance compliance and company work ethic culture is in place by respecting/adhering to all policies and procedures and proactively “lives” them;
  • Checks accuracy of SAP tasks such as payments, vendor management, contractor management and organizational changes in order to ensure correct set ups, invoicing and vendor communication;
  • In order to improve process efficiency acts as Super User, brings in ideas and shares new processes within the Finance Management and their teams;
  • Supports and addresses in case of SAP/IT problems;
  • Creates, revises and keeps procedures and work instructions up to date in conjunction with other departments in order to sustain process stability and standardization;
  • Provides training, guidance, and functional expertise as needed to assist and train colleagues in the organization in order to improve performance of colleagues and effectivity of procedures;
  • Ensures development of team members to ensure continuation in the organization according in line with the job ladder.

This is what you bring

  • College degree preferred or equivalent work experience;
  • IT capabilities (MS Office, SAP);
  • 5-8 years’ work experience in a similar role;
  • SAP experience is pre;
  • Familiarity with Ariba, Iron Mountain and DocuSign or ability to quickly grasp these applications;
  • Ability to quickly understand (inter-departmental) process flows within a large international organization;
  • Well-honed organizational skills—manage workflow & projects effectively and timely;
  • Able to manage & prioritize multiple tasks/projects at the same time;
  • Flawless written and verbal Dutch and English.
