This is the role
In this entry role within the European Intermediates & Derivatives Sales Team you will represent the company and execute business strategies, develop new business, manage existing customer relationships in direct and indirect channels, increase overall value creation and manage the full order-to-cash process. We are looking for a dynamic, commercial and agile individual who can drive a growth agenda with direct accounts and indirect sales channels. The position will be based in Rotterdam (NL)
Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Drives for results and achieves sales and pricing objectives in terms of contribution margin, volume, customer share, cost management and working capital
- Engages with current and prospective small & medium sized customers through phone, email, portals to identify and analyze customer needs and develops commercial solutions
- Dynamically drives the achievement of sales targets and cost objectives, including pricing, volume & margin objectives, account share, cost-to-serve management, bad debt and working capital
- Develops and nurtures relationships with key stakeholders, externally with customers, and internally with Sales, Marketing, Technical Service, Customer Service, Supply Chain and Credit and establishes solid relationships with them
- Enhances LYB market intelligence utilizing our CRM solution (Sales Force)
- Promotes continuous improvement and operation excellence for key sales processes, notably pricing and contract management
- Coordinating and aligning objectives and initiatives within the regional account team
- Respects all LYB policies and procedures, compliance guidance and embraces the Vision, Mission, Values of LYB
This is who you are
To be successful in this role you must recognize yourself in the following profile:
You have commercial acumen and with this the ability to pro-actively engage customers (incl. cold calling, opportunity value identification) in order to understand LYB value proposition in relation to the identified opportunity. Furthermore you’re able to present information in a simple way, clearly communicating the key messages and engages the audience. You communicate openly and clear and are able to simplify complex issues where possible and share information freely.
You have strong negotiating skills in tough situations with internal and external groups. You’re albe to settles differences with minimum “noise” and can win concessions without damaging relationships. You can be direct and forceful as well as diplomatic and have the skills to gain trust quickly of other parties to the negotiations with a good sense of timing.
Last but not least you always look for opportunities to continuously learn about LYB products and services to be able to clearly articulate these in a strong value proposition for the partner entity.

This is what you bring
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in scientific, technical or business field
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in the chemical industry with proven commercial acumen, preferably in a commercial role (Sales, Marketing, Business Development or Product Management
- Fluent in English and at least one other European language (preferably Dutch, German and/or Turkish)
- Developed IT skills (Microsoft Office Word/Excel/PowerPoint, SAP R/3, SalesForce)
