This is the role

As Regulatory Affairs and Communications Advisor you will support the Europe circularity & low carbon solutions (C&LC) advocacy programs and the business objectives for C&LC demand growth as well as supporting internal and external communications. 
You will be accountable for regulatory review, advising on Circular/Low Carbon Policy across Europe as well as working closely with the Corporate Communications team to provide the communications support needed for the Business. Elements of the role will include: collects information, knowledge & expertise on legislation / ERP schemes/plastics taxes applicable to C&LC solutions. As well as lobbying interests of SBU to key stakeholders: governmental entities, ISCC+, CEFIC and Plastics Europe among others industry bodies. You provide business support for subsidies application to the subsidies team, you prepare content for internal and external C&LC communications and serve as interface with Public Affairs and Marketing Communication of LYB Group.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Accountable for regulatory review, advising on Circular/Low Carbon Policy across Europe
  • Support the development and prioritization of C&LC’s position on key policy topics partnering with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor, analyze and provide insight to key regulations impacting the C&LC SBU developments across Europe/Global in collaboration to the Government affairs LYB team.
  • Collaborating and working closely with the Corporate Communications team to provide the communications support needed for the Business
  • Provide research and strategic analysis to support the development of educational, thought leadership and advocacy content to the C&LC team. 
  • Communicate unique value proposition to the relevant external key stakeholders, like industry bodies; supporting the LYB Government affairs team.
  • Produce visualizations that expresses C&LC’s impact and captivate audiences of all types. 
  • Provides briefings to the C&LC team on matters impacting the Business but also support/enhance internal messaging/communications, positions and policy papers on Circularity and Low Carbon matters working closely with the Governmental affairs team.

This position will require approximately up to 20% travel in Europe.

You are already leading advocacy or communications campaigns on behalf of a company or a trade association. You possess strong interpersonal skills and you are a professional demeanor who is service orientated. You effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders in a multi-cultural environment. Writing is one of your strengths. 

This is what you bring

  • Min Bachelor's (University) Degree required;
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in in either government, public service, EU institutions, industry or trade associations or international company;
  • Experience in a commercially oriented role such as marketing or sales. Having experience on communication would be preferred;
  • Ability to identify and build strong working relationships with public officials and other key stakeholders in the region;
  • Petrochemical, oil/gas, polymer industry experience is a plus;
  • Fluent in English is a must and any other language is a plus.
