This is the role

 

 

The Product Safety Specialist – Chemical Control provides support to all matters related to the global chemical control legislation and related activities for all product divisions. 

 

The Product Safety Specialist – Material Assessments provides support to all matters related to the materials used in finished products/manufacturing process for all product divisions globally. 

 

This support entails assistance with substance registrations, dossier maintenance, process management in such ways that all the LyondellBasell legal entities are compliant with chemical control legislation.  

 

In addition, this role supports the chemical control evaluation, completeness for all raw materials globally and regional finished goods including the SAP data requirements for compliance checks and volume tracking functionality. 

 

This function will support the Product Safety team in providing correct regulatory advice to allow compliant business in the region.
 

 

Roles & Responsibilities

 

  • Conduct an overall assessment of new/revised information on raw materials and ensure the availability of the supporting information in the applicable repositories.
  • Be an expert in the use of SAP/ /LIMS / CheMS, make analysis, generate lists and provide assistance to chemical control activities.
  • Basic knowledge of chemical control legislation and the applicable IT tools required to maintain this information (IUCLID, REACH-IT, Poison Centers, etc.)
  • Provide assistance in the assessment of new regulatory releases of IT Tools and the impact on LyondellBasell dossiers. Testing, error logging and collecting test information to ensure alignments of regulatory dossiers.
  • Support implementation programs and procedures related to chemical control regulations in compliance with Company Operational Excellence expectations.
  • Assist chemical control in substance communication, consortia activities and letter of access calculation, regulatory project maintenance. 

This is what you bring

 

 

  • Bachelor in Chemistry, biochemistry, biomedical science, bio-engineer, environmental science or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years specific functional experience. 
  • English proficiency is required. 
  • Advanced PC skills including spreadsheets, databases – SAP / IUCLID  experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and evaluation skills.
  • Self-directed.
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Analytical and systemic thinking.
  • Interpersonal capabilities to work effectively as a team member and to plan/coordinate processes for results.
