This is the role

As a Procurement Consultant you will be responsible for improving the operational efficiency of business areas/functions by developing and implementing long-range strategic plans as well as benchmarking performance against best-in-class. You will be the focal point for developing and implementing global environmental, social and governance (ESG) due diligence and risk assessment processes to support the expansion of a Sustainable Sourcing Program and associated practices.

In this role you serve as a facilitator for both product/process owners, cross functional team members and stakeholders to bring discipline to quality, cost, delivery (QCD) and innovation approaches and drive towards justifiable improvements. And you will have operational responsibilities (i.e. project marketing/advocacy, end-user training, management reporting, compliance monitoring and functional gap closure) in support of LyondellBasell’s cost competitiveness efforts

Key responsibilities:

  • Organize various process design activities within the organization to improve operational efficiency and lower cost of operations (inclusive of designing solutions aligned with functional roadmaps and ensuring integration with other projects, systems and processes)
  • Organize and facilitates agile activities for assigned teams e.g. brainstorming and planning exercises, roadmap planning, daily stand ups, business reviews
  • Display a high proficiency in enterprise system applications. Applies analytical tools to anticipate and solve problems in a timely fashion. Analyzes complex data, identifies anomalies and provides information in a user-friendly format. 
  • Provide advice and support to Procurement personnel on the practical application of sustainability considerations in sourcing programs
  • Assist project team development e.g. ensure accountability for commitments, roadblock removal, leveraging organizational resources, mentoring team agility
  • Display high proficiency in partnering with cross-functional teams in complex programs or initiatives
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement to enhance effectiveness and best practice sharing
This is who you are

To be successful in the role of Procurement Consultant you have strong analytical and data/numerical skills. You have a strong drive to set up and execute strategic projects on a wide variety of topics in an independent and autonomic way and demonstrated experience successfully implementing change management strategies and techniques. Furthermore you have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

This is what you bring
  • MSc degree in Finance, Engineering or Consultancy 
  • An advanced degree (PhD, MBA etc) is considered as a plus
  • 5 to 15 years of relevant work experience, preferably in Consultancy, or a similar position in Oil & Gas industry or Heavy Manufacturing
  • Evidential business experience defining KPI's and metrics
  • Fluent in English
