This is the role

As Procurement Specialist you will be part of the global procurement organization  and responsible for procuring everything that is related to maintenance of production locations in Europe.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Independent management of medium sourcing projects (up to €1MM)
  • Tendering and negotiation of regional and local contracts (up to €1MM)
  • Issuing Purchase Orders 
  • Analysis of bid responses to determine the most responsive and responsible bidder
  • Works closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, Site Services, R&D and Category Manager 
  • Supports sustainability as one of the key elements of LyondellBasell´s procurement strategy through supplier relationship management to make a positive impact in the value chain and the environment
  • Primarily responsible for effective and efficient operation of the purchasing process 

 

Part of the responsibilities include be supplier negotiations; maintaining and negotiating a number of low and middle value contracts outline agreements (up to €1MM) for e.g. our warehouses; Global Terms & Condition (GT&C) alignment with Legal; analyzing data.

 

This role can be filled either at our Rotterdam or Wesseling location.

You are proficient in purchasing fundamentals and procurement work processes. And you have excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, which allows you to collaborate and influence stakeholders across various levels of the organization as well as in different functions and business units to achieve project goals. You understand the intricacies of sourcing, negotiation, and supply chain management and embody a proactive, analytical, and collaborative approach to work.

This is what you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Economics or Engineering
  • 2+ years Procurement related experience required with degree; 6+ years' experience in lieu of degree
  • 1-2 years of chemical /engineering or related industry experience is desirable
  • SAP, Ariba and MS knowledge and experience desirable 
  • Fluency in English and in addition Dutch and/or German is preferred
