This is the role

In the role of Marine Scheduler you are involved in the operational planning of EU I&D maritime orders and the coordination of bulk liquid chemical transports. You do this by planning carefully and by properly coordinating matters within the process. You are continuously looking for and stimulating initiatives for process improvement, you assist in department training projects and you design and implement department procedures and policies and provide advice on this.

You make agreements with the internal customer about loading and unloading data and technical conditions, put orders in the system and inform colleagues at the charging station of what needs to be done. You coordinate and ensure that everything comes together, you do this on the basis of the available information and agreements. You keep yourself constantly informed of what needs to be done and you take the necessary actions.

Together with your two colleagues you have a broad and dynamic range of tasks and you are therefore responsible for:

  • Marine Operations for I&D bulk liquids EU, for example coordination and administration of plant jetty planning, barge and ship movements, import & export, from and to third party factories and terminals;
  • Administration of orders in SAP;
  • Coordinating ship screening activities;
  • Close collaboration with external suppliers and internal customers;
  • Assisting the operational owner of maritime LSPs;
  • Instructing and advising third parties and internal customers on operational requirements;
  • Operate and instruct suppliers in accordance with transportation regulations, national and international laws;
  • Investigate and advise on quality complaints (QNs, QIs and QPs) if applicable;
  • Backup for road/intermodal and rail delivery planning.

To be successful in the role of Marine Scheduler you are an open and flexible person, you communicate and switch easily between different stakeholders. Whether you talk to a sales manager, a planner or the customer, it's easy for you, networking is a matter of course for you. You take ownership of the process, are flexible in thinking and acting and are decisive when necessary. You are always able to set the right priorities, even when a problem needs to be solved ad hoc. You don't let yourself be fooled and you stand your ground!

This is what you bring

  • HBO working and thinking level;
  • 1 to 3 years of work experience in our business or related environments;
  • Experience with SAP and MS Office;
  • General knowledge of the supply chain, especially in the field of (shipping and customs) documentation and INCO terms;
  • You speak both Dutch and English fluently.
