This is the role

As the Sales Operations Manager you'll be in a leadership position within the I&D EMEA Sales team, reporting to the Director, Sales, EMEA. This role has oversight of a team consisting of two Technical Service Specialists and one Sales Analyst. You will be developing the regional technical service strategy in addition to managing the processes for product handling, product technical specifications and product quality issues for the I&D EMEA business. You will also serve as the focal point representing the global I&D sales team for projects related to systems, processes, CCE and Low Carbon VEP driving more global alignment and standardization.


Roles & responsibilities:

 

  • Work closely with Product Safety and other regional technical service teams to coordinate processes, reporting and product risk reviews;
  • Manage the training on I&D products and end uses, for Sales, Marketing, Planning and other functional groups, aligned globally;
  • Ensure proper representation for LYB on industry panels such as CEFIC and influence external regulatory and compliance decisions;
  • Consult with Business Management, Supply Chain and Sales to manage technical product issues such as customer qualification and customer assessment protocols for high risk products;
  • Develop and gain endorsement for regional EMEA technical service strategy incoordination with the Americas and Asia;
  • Manage team participation in business support activities including assessments of logistics service providers, incident root cause analyses, technical or product stewardship project teams and establishing operational standards for product handling or storage;
  • Work closely with Sales, Business, support functions and CCE to manage and drive continuous improvement projects that solve challenges related to the LYB customer experience. Ensure proper project management across all initiatives including I&D resource planning based on a defined I&D Sales and Business strategy;
  • Make decisions, pushing back when necessary, in the best interest of the global I&D sales organization for projects involving systems, processes and CCE initiatives, aligned with the global stakeholders;
  • Take shared ownership of Global I&D and corporate initiatives by being or working with the implementation lead(s) to drive success within the regions;
  • Provide recommendations to I&D leadership in line with the Business Unit goal to develop and execute global CCE strategy for I&D;
  • Support as needed in the execution of the process and the implementation of the bankable plans for I&D Low Carbon VEP;
  • Drive and improve Sales Analyst activities including contract management, commercial process excellence, KPI’s and commercial process improvements within the Sales organization working together with Global I&D Sales Analyst;
  • Guide Sales Analyst in effective and efficient analysis of sales performance and execution of reporting requirements as a framework for achieving Sales and Business
  • strategies.

This is what you bring

  • Technical or Business bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred;
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the chemical industry, in technical and/or commercial roles;
  • Experience managing a team of professionals is a plus;
  • In depth knowledge of LYB product lines and processes including familiarity with product end uses is a plus;
  • Well-developed communication, problem solving, project management and decision making skills;
  • Practical experience in or affinity with Sales Processes and Customer Management;
  • Fluency in English required, additional local language(s) a plus.
