This is the role

In order to support our sustainable growth, we are currently looking for an Inventory Accountant Advances Polymer Solutions (APS). In this position you will support the Regional Inventory Accounting Manager EAI in the transformation of the finance organization. You transactional responsibilities include IFRS/USGAAP and Statutory inventory accounting, Transfer Pricing for multiple plants in Europe, FIFO/LIFO/LCM inventory valuation for APS and support for Intermediates and Derivates locations, product costing, inventory adjustments, inventory flux analysis, and managing GRIR. You will also be responsible for accounting support and problem solving for inventory functional areas. 

Main responsibilities:

• Deliver efficient and effective transaction services in accordance with corporate policies and legislative requirements. 
• Support and back up Inventory Accounting activities of the other team members.
• Performing various accounting procedures to the proper statement of our inventory balances. 
• Month end closing procedures (FIFO, ICP, IDP, LIFO) 
• Support and implement agreed process improvement initiatives within the regional process team. 
• Implement and maintain desk procedures for area of responsibility. 
• Perform SOX controls and maintain evidence of control for area of responsibility.

To be successful in this role you must recognize yourself in the following profile:

• Ability to work according to specific procedures, to US GAAP/ STATUTORY accounting rules
• Ability to plan day to day activities in order to fulfill all the closing tasks on time
• Ability to quickly analyze problems so that immediate resolution can be undertaken
• Self-driven person who identifies opportunities for improvements
• Strong communication skills with all the other departments 
  • Ability to work equally well with executives and technologists, supporting high-visibility, high-impact projects to improve processes.

This is what you bring

• Education as a qualified accountant, Apprenticeship in Economics or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar 
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in Inventory Accounting / Cost Accounting
• At least 3 years SAP experience (CO, MM and FI)
• Fluent in English is required
