This is the role

Over the course of your internship program, you will work mainly close with the Strategic Procurement Team NL (Rotterdam based and part of Global Procurement Asset Optimization & Infrastructure Technology) but also cooperate and interact with different stakeholders and support organizations.  You will acquire insides in the NL/ UK procurement organization for Technical Services and Materials. You will also have the opportunity to build knowledge on several segments within Procurement.  

Besides working on the day-to-day activities you can be assigned to working on one or more of the following projects:

• Develop spend analyses
  • Including trends and future predictions
  • According to pareto principle
• Support Sustainable Procurement 
  • Cooperate with mentor and or other Procurement professionals to advance Sustainable procurement 
• Automation opportunities
  • Share/ develop ideas to automate procurement activities 
• Opportunities for strategic vs tactical procurement 
  • Share ideas and contribute to the discussion of optimizing both parts of Procurement 
• Support running projects 
  • In Global Procurement Asset Optimization & Infrastructure Technology  projects are part of our day to day business
  • The above could be of interest for both the Intern as well as LYB (Procurement

Activities Overview

• Develop assigned project as per scope, objectives and deliverables;
• Participate in orientation sessions, Events & Training;
• Participate in day-to-day support activities of assigned organization and understand the priorities for the team;
• Participate in discussions regarding the approach, planning, and development of components;
• Document procedures and technical designs for new initiatives; present to peers and senior management;
• Conduct all activities in compliance with policies, guidelines, procedures, work processes, and internal controls;
• Work with the manager & mentor to develop other key projects or initiatives;
• Drive standardization and proactively recommend improvements.

This is what you bring

• Currently enrolled in a BSc. or MSc. Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering or E+I Engineering.
• Fluent in English;
• Must be available to work 32 - 40 hours per week;
• Available as of February 2023;
• EU citizen.
