Announcement

In June 2025, LYB announced entering into an agreement and exclusive negotiations for the sale of four olefins & polyolefins sites and the associated business in Europe. The sites to be sold are located in Berre (France), Münchsmünster (Germany), Carrington (UK), and Tarragona (Spain). The sites together represent a scaled olefins and polyolefins platform strategically located in proximity to a longstanding customer base and with access and connectivity to key infrastructure.  

Closing of the proposed transaction is currently expected in the first half of 2026. From the start, the new company will be a scaled leader in European Olefins & Polyolefins. Powered by strategically located assets, a diverse product portfolio, and operational excellence, it aims to transform the business, fostering an agile, entrepreneurial culture where fast decision-making and hands-on collaboration drive transformation and growth.

You will become part of a new dynamic organization with around 1,800 employees, headquarters in Rotterdam and production sites in France, Germany, UK and Spain with a strong focus on customer excellence. 

This is the role

This role is positioned in our European Headquarter in Rotterdam. HR has a strategic role to play in the success of the business. As a HR Business Partner (HRBP) at Rotterdam O&P organization you are the link between the needs of the business and the delivery of HR support. This role partners managers and employees to drive workforce planning, succession management, and proactive people solutions. The HRBP acts as a trusted advisor, delivering comprehensive HR support to enable performance, collaboration, and long-term business success.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

  • Partnership with the business to ensure the delivery of HR strategies at the local level;
  • Build capabilities to operationalize the HR processes and support the line managers with local implementation of changes;
  • Advise line managers on organizational structures and processes to ensure that the HR implications of change programs are considered and planned for;
  • Provide insightful management information (HR data) to Leadership teams to ensure Resourcing and Talent Management is addressed appropriately;
  • Deliver targeted performance improvement interventions at individual and team levels. Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions);
  • Facilitate interventions with client population, e.g. team development;
  • Knowledge of Dutch labour law; Maintains required knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance;
  • Act as a positive role model and company representative representing the values, integrity and ethic of the organization.

This is what you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field required;
  • Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM) preferred;
  • 5–8 years HR business partner experience in a dynamic, international or matrix organization;
  • Proved ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, manage issues, identify and mitigate risks while positively influencing future strategy and direction of the department;
  • Ability to collaborate, influence and build strong relationships at all levels of the organization;
  • Proven ability to understand key HR business drivers and processes;
  • Proficiency in the use of SAP, payroll and/or any other related tools, including MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Ability to discern critical priorities.  Also important is knowing when to intervene; what information is reliable and what needs to be questioned; how to best keep the leaders focused on top priorities;
  • Fluent in English both written as oral, preferably Dutch or one other European language.
