Basic Function

 

The Advanced Analytics Specialist works on a variety of technology projects and initiatives, with a focus on developing and implementing data mining approaches, advanced analytics solutions, data ETL solutions and automations for our Order to Cash process, with focus on Forecast to Plan. The Advanced Analytics Specialist is the key member of S&OP team for deploying the right data and tooling strategy to meet the need of our team as well as business stakeholders.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

 

 

  • Leverage the power of data, analytics, robotics, science and cognitive technologies to mine and uncover hidden relationships from the data in the process, generate insights and inform better decision-making.
  • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies together with data engineers that answer key questions about the Demand and Supply planning for O&P, from Feedstock to sales
  • Design, develop, test, validate and deploy data models, using techniques including data mining, ML algorithm, statistical modeling, predictive modeling, natural language processing
  • Visualize the analytic and reporting solutions
  • Interpret the validity of model results and communicate the meaning of those results to both non-technical and technical stakeholders
  • Enhance your personal knowledge on advanced statistical techniques, predictive analytics and machine-learning
    • Python, R and other relevant ETL tooling
    • Power BI; SAP BW and Tableau
  • Support knowledge build up within the S&OP team on advanced statistical techniques
  • Stay up-to-date with Intelligent Automation technologies, capabilities, business applications, process mining, and be aware of innovations in this area
  • Be the focal point for any ad-hoc data-related questions or designing and implementing structural data analysis-based process improvements and business propositions
  • Represent the European S&OP team within the LYB Data Science community 
  • Technically design and deploy end-to-end reporting and analytics processes to optimize key end-to-end KPIs
    • Together with the data engineering and IT colleagues
  • To keep data up to date and operate as efficiently as possible, design and deploy automation of all data management through rules. 
  • Collaborate and support the Data Analyst and the SOP team on the data and reporting matters and projects
  • Investigate RPA opportunities and assist in:
    • Automating processes or process steps using self-service tools (Alteryx, VBA, Tableau Prep, Microsoft flow)
    • in documenting incoming IA demand for GPS Automation & Reporting
    • identifying potential processes to be automated with recommendations for benefits and savings
    • capturing the as-is process and business requirement for automation candidates
    • conducting RPA process feasibility assessment and cost-benefit analysis
    • maintaining and ensuring continuity of implemented RPA 

Job Specifications

 

This position requires an individual with a University degree in engineering, Chemistry, Finance, Economics or related field of study. Should have 5+ years of experience mostly in manufacturing, commercial or supply chain functions.  Must be a recognized professional with strong interpersonal skills, and possess broad knowledge of the chemical industry business, planning and economics.  Must display a high level of initiative and have outstanding communication skills. Good understanding of SAP, IBP and other IT-systems setup as well as Offer to Cash process.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s / Master degree in Engineering/Chemistry/Finance/Economics/related field of study 
  • Experience in a commercial, business or supply chain environment;
  • Other degree with a minimum 2 years' hands on experience within data science, data analytics, process automation or process mining will be considered. 
  • Fluency in English

 

Skills:

 

  • Proficiency with a wide range of analytics techniques, such as statistics, ML Algorithms, natural language processing, optimization, simulation
  • Proficiency with data extraction, transformation and manipulation within relational databases
  • Experience in programming languages such as R, Python, VBA, SQL, Power Query
  • Experience in data visualization tool, such as Tableau, Power BI
  • Strong Knowledge of databases and SAP
  • Good understanding of end to end processes in Forecast to Plan, Lead to Cash
  • Experience in an Offer to Cash process or Procure to Pay process
  • Communication (English) skills as well as project management skills
  • Self-starter
