Announcement
In June 2025, LYB announced entering into an agreement and exclusive negotiations for the sale of four olefins & polyolefins sites and the associated business in Europe. The sites to be sold are located in Berre (France), Münchsmünster (Germany), Carrington (UK), and Tarragona (Spain). The sites together represent a scaled olefins and polyolefins platform strategically located in proximity to a longstanding customer base and with access and connectivity to key infrastructure.
Closing of the proposed transaction is currently expected in the first half of 2026. From the start, the new company (“NewCo”) will be a scaled leader in European Olefins & Polyolefins. Powered by strategically located assets, a diverse product portfolio, and operational excellence, it aims to transform the business, fostering an agile, entrepreneurial culture where fast decision-making and hands-on collaboration drive transformation and growth.

You will be crucial to a successful transition and, when the sale is closed, success of the new company. You will become part of a new dynamic organization with around 1,800 employees, headquarters in Rotterdam and production sites in France, Germany, UK and Spain with a strong focus on customer excellence.
This is the role
The purpose of the Commercial Excellence Manager role is to develop and implement business transformation processes to drive Commercial Excellence to maximize the overall value and return for the polymers business of NewCo. The Commercial Excellence Manager will play a key role in supporting the Commercial teams to establish the right capabilities (operating model, pricing processes and pricing tools) and monitoring of and reporting on execution progress.
The Commercial Excellence Manager will be based in the Rotterdam office of NewCo.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Define Commercial Excellence objectives and formulate approach to achieve Commercial Transformation goals
- Review and map existing Commercial business processes and, in partnership with the commercial teams (commercial managers and account managers), identify gaps and improvement opportunities. Set up and execute process improvement projects
- Drive Commercial Excellence projects with a primary focus on the Pricing Excellence project. Partner with external consultant firms in design, development and functionality of Pricing Excellence tool.
- Manage and update pricing process and tools; enhance processes to make most of efficiencies and ensure timely response to market conditions. Responsible for testing and training for new systems implementation
- Generate and analyze price performance reports. Summarize and present key findings to internal stakeholders to facilitate the development of new strategies and/or tactics to improve performance.
- Translate best practices into detailed processes and tools to be deployed across market segments and areas/countries
- Support Commercial teams to achieve Commercial goals and partner with cross functional teams to ensure support and alignment
- Contribute to SF.com improvement and Marketing Campaigns
- Partner with Digital team in development of analytical reports around pricing, markets, customers and competitors that help to define improvements in commercial effectiveness
- Responsible to perform analytics on Commercial Excellence effectiveness in function of e.g. strategy, growth & market penetration, asset loading and tactical initiatives.

You are able to quickly partner with different functions (Commercial, Innovation, Finance, Strategy…) to collect insights, feedback and balance it to define the right approach to meet the Commercial Excellence Transformation outcomes. You bring excellent analytical skills, supported by a solid understanding of business analysis, in the areas of pricing, market and customer dynamics. You can translate best practices into detailed process and tool upgrades and deploy across segments and countries. You are seen as a trusted and truthful individual that helps others to excel in the commercial arena.

This is what you bring
- Bachelor’s degree University Degree in one of the following areas - Business, MBA, Marketing, Business/Administration, Economics, Finance, Business/Management
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in a Sales/Marketing or Commercial role
- Relevant industry knowledge to manage successful business strategies
