This is the role

 

The Business Support and Market Analyst provides support to the I&D EU TBA & Styrene team. With the production of MTBE & ETBE the team aims to improve fuel quality, with the production of Styrene it provides a chemical building block used for e.g. latex and insulation. These products are actively traded commodities that are produced and shipped around the globe.

 

To optimize our global presence, through dedicated software and datasets, you gather and translate market intelligence, in order to drive business decisions and create the highest value possible. 
In addition, you will manage business controls related to Sarbanes-Oxley and commercial excellence initiatives, whereas you will act as the internal focal point for tracking and analyzing contract performance and compliance.

These are the roles & responsibilities

 

  • Research and process market information relevant to our products, maintain datasets, observe global and local market trends and opportunities in order to support Marketing and Sales on tactical decisions and business opportunities
  • Manage business control activities in relation to Compliance (e.g. Sarbanes & Oxley related policies and controls) and commercial excellence
  • Execute and coordinate the monthly Retrospective Pricing Report check (RPR). Make sure that all data is accurate, investigate any deviations and ensure timely approvals from the relevant business managers
  • Act as focal point for internal and external audits (including SOX and Quality audits)
  • Maintain customer-supplier business mailing lists, coordinate customer surveys, SalesForce, E-Business etc
  • Act as back-up support to the Contract Coordinators for the TBA and Styrene department 
  • Work closely with the Contract Coordinators and Contract Owners to ensure that relevant processes are followed including Delegations of Authority 

This is what you bring

 

  • University level degree in Science, Engineering, Finance or Business related subject degree preferred
  • 1 - 2 years of relevant experience required, preferably in Chemical / Engineering industry
  • A self-starter with an ability to work with deadlines.
  • The ability to challenge & optimize is essential.
  • Highly numerate, accurate and with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written (PowerPoint and memos)

This would be highly appreciated

 

  • Understanding of the Chemical industry and Supply Chain
  • Good knowledge of systems & commercial processes (BW, SAP, Documentum, and Excel)
