This is the role

 

The purpose of the job is to establish coherent asset/product strategy in accordance to the MBS business/marketing strategy in order to drive profitable growth and create differentiated products portfolio relative to competition in this division. The responsibility includes product stewardship, understanding and addressing gap closure versus external benchmarks, and working in close collaboration with manufacturing, planning & sourcing, supply chain, marketing, TS, corporate HSE and other functions. 

These are your roles & responsibilities

 

In this position you will be working on the following:

 

  • Evaluate plant performance versus external benchmarks and business needs. 
  • Develop, adapt and maintain appropriate asset strategy to close performance gaps, optimize the cost versus revenue balance and fit to business needs. 
  • Define corresponding initiatives and action plan to drive implementation, developed in close collaboration with marketing managers, manufacturing, planning and other functions as relevant and applicable.
  • Drive rapid implementation of gap closure measures and improvement action plan, interacting with Marketing, Manufacturing, Procurement, ADTS & Planning as appropriate
  • Develop and drive initiatives to maximize value from our assets.
  • Ensure plants are technically, logistically and capacity-wise aligned to business needs.
  • Organize structured Plant Liaison Meetings and facilitate the process of continuous improvement. 
  • Develop assets according to market requirements and business strategy including profit generation and continues improvement CapEx. 
  • Supports or manage specific product rationalization and cost reduction programs/projects as well as procurement driven cost reduction initiatives on raw materials. Optimize and rationalize commercial portfolio with special focus on unprofitable products in strategic alignment with marketing. Define assets related service level attributes including lead times, response time and similar.
  • Acts as central coordination point for product allocation crisis management in strategic alignment with marketing. 
  • Act as strategic coordinator of tooling, licensing and JV activities.
  • Contributes to the management of slow moving and non-prime stock.
  • Lead Product Stewardship activities to ensure external regulations, externally or corporate certified standards and business needs are fully met for relevant part of the product portfolio. Understand implications of upcoming changes in requirements and ensure timely response.
  • Assist in quality processes, such as audits, ISO-9001 certification, business/product stewardship procedures, customer quality audits together with Quality Focal Points and other stakeholders. 
  • Assess product quality risks and support investigation of off-grade productions, quality issues and claims in coordination with the plants. 
  • Lead the regular information exchange with Operations to monitor plant performance, address issues, co-ordinate improvement efforts and upcoming changes/ activities

This is what you bring

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing or likewise is preferred. MBA is highly preferred.
  • Bringing 10 years of relevant manufacturing, R&D, ADTS or marketing experience
  • Knowledge and interest of LyondellBasell products, market applications and production technologies
  • High analytical skills to understand key drivers of plant performance and match with business needs
  • Demonstrated ability in preparation of improvement action plans from analysis through to implementation, results orientation, planning capability and organized project management structures
  • Capability to interact across and engage multiple different functions in driving forward for collective best results 
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Fluent in English, one or more other European languages highly preferred
