This is the role

As a Key Account Manager your role is to manage the overall relationship with several important global and/or pan European accounts. You will be the main liaisons between the customers headquarter representatives and LyondellBasell and will be coordination internally the follow up. Next to the execution of the sales plan the role especially focusing on developing strategic programs on a more mid to longer time frame with these important accounts. You key responsibilities are:

  • Coordinating and aligning objectives and initiatives within the international key account management team, and taking pan European coordination with several key accounts.
  • Engage in customer visits to identify and analyze customer needs and develop commercial solutions.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, externally with customers and endusers and internally with sales, marketing, ADTS, CS and credit and establishes solid relationships with them.
  • Develop and implement Account Management Plan including Account profile, like SWOT analysis, Goals and Objectives, Innovation plan, and Resource plan.
  • Monitor timely closing of customer quality complaints and claims that go across multiple locations.
  • Increase sales by promoting targeted products/applications and innovation, identifies and captures cross-selling opportunities, identifies and develops new customers.
  • Provides regular up-dates on market intelligence and competitive movements to the business in the respective segment.
  • Ensure a consistent and effective execution of the business strategy and makes recommendations on potential improvements.
  • Drive operational and commercial excellence in S&OP and other key business processes.
  • Ensure SalesForce is kept up to date with latest info on these Key Accounts.

  • Able to negotiate skillfully in tough situations with both internal and external groups. Can settle differences with minimum “noise”. Can win concessions without damaging relationships. Can be direct and forceful as well as diplomatic. Gains trust quickly of other parties to the negotiations. Has a good sense of timing.
  • Able to present information in a simple way, clearly communicating the key messages and engages the audience. Communicates openly and clear. Simplifies complex issues where possible and share information freely
  • Ability to listen and understanding customer needs.
  • Finds opportunities to continuously learn about LYB products and services to be able to clearly articulate these in a strong value proposition for the partner entity.

This is what you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a relevant science field (like polymer science)
  • Solid (6+ years) commercial and technical experience in the Polymers Industry.
  • Fluency in English is required, in addition, knowledge of at least one regional language preferred.
