This is the role
The Inspection team Lead is the head of the IVG (Inspectieafdeling Van de Gebruiker) and responsible for the Botlek and Maasvlakte site inspection program for stationary pressure equipment. The team is based at both locations and consist of 15 skilled and motivated inspectors with varying qualifications and specializations. The aim of the inspection program is to monitor, preserve and improve the plant asset integrity to ensure optimal availability, safety and reliability of all stationary equipment, including pressured equipment and atmospheric storage tanks. This function is also the mechanical integrity site focal point for Operational Excellence, Technical Directives, internal/external audits, corporate initiatives for stationary equipment, compliance to legislation and regulations, etc. In addition, as you are responsible to define the inspection scope for Turnarounds.
This function reports to the HSEQI Manager. The supervisory role is therefore broader than managing the inspection team, it also demands an active role with achieving HSEQI departmental goals and related activities. The role requires demonstrated leadership skills including proficient communication skills, a good understanding of the manufacturing process, stakeholder management and a high level of integrity and trust. In this role you are also responsible for the organizational development of the inspection team, setting goals and objectives, coaching and performance management. Going forward, you will seek innovations and realign the site’s risk based inspection philosophy and accordingly define the inspection strategy for the coming years. Together with the inspection team you will ensure compliance to NL-CBI/IVG requirements as described in the Dutch legislation: Warenwet Besluit Drukapparatuur (WBDA) and the Praktijkregels voor Drukapparatuur (PRDA) and LYB internal
This is what you bring
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a technical area required;
- At least 5 years of experience in a related technical (lead) role with supervisory experience;
- Substantial experience and knowledge of chemical, processing or refining plant maintenance, operations and/or HSE;
- Good understanding of business objectives and the ability to prioritize initiatives and the application of resources;
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the site organization and with external (governmental) stakeholders;
- Ability to utilize inspection team’s diverse expertise to optimize inspection strategy and goals;
- Knowledge in (inter) national regulations such as PED and Dutch WBDA 2016 is not required;
- Fluency in Dutch and English.
