This is the role
As a Senior Reliability Engineer, you will be a key member of our dynamic team, providing critical engineering support to our Plants. Your responsibilities will include:
Engineering & Technical Solutions
- Develop engineering solutions for recurring failures and operational issues impacting plant performance.
- Ensure reliability and maintainability are integrated into the design of equipment, processes, utilities, controls, and safety systems.
- Support plant outages and turnarounds with reliability-focused strategies and expertise.
Problem Solving & Analysis
- Analyze and solve complex reliability issues using Lean Six Sigma and other proven methodologies.
- Facilitate root cause investigations and conduct risk analyses to support preventive and predictive maintenance.
Strategic Planning
- Develop long-range reliability plans and obsolescence strategies by identifying critical equipment and vulnerabilities.
- Create and implement mitigation plans aligned with plant asset strategies to achieve performance targets.
Collaboration & Communication
- Engage with site personnel (operators, technicians, supervisors, managers) to align on reliability goals and strategies.
- Communicate reliability achievements, threats, and recommendations to senior management.
- Collaborate with the global asset integrity team to synchronize and standardize reliability initiatives.
Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Sharing
- Lead interdisciplinary reliability improvement teams to drive sustainable enhancements.
- Organize in-house forums, workshops, and collaborative sessions to promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) initiatives by translating operator feedback into actionable reliability improvements.
Innovation & Technology
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and best practices to enhance reliability and performance.

This is what you bring
- Master’s degree in Engineering with minimum of 8 years of Reliability and/or Maintenance, Inspection engineering experience in chemical or refinery industry;
- Knowledge of and experience with Lean Six Sigma is a strong preference;
- Advanced level of interpersonal capability to provide timely and effective problem solving;
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely and convincingly both verbally and writing with internal and external clients;
- Ability to drive continuous reliability improvements in equipment installations and work processes;
- Capable to coach, develop and hold others accountable;
- Strong commitment to safety, a high level of personal integrity, and dedication to conducting business in an ethical way;
- Ability to work across multi-disciplinary team;
- Fluency in Dutch and English.
Basic proficiency in the following areas with the ability to develop into a subject matter expert in particular areas:
- Predictive Maintenance and Condition Monitoring Techniques
- Life Cycle Cost Analysis
- Reliability data analysis
- RCM based Predictive and Preventive Maintenance strategies
- Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt
- Ability to apply computer software tools (SAP, Microsoft Office, PowerBi)
