This is the role

The Capital projects ‘discipline engineering team’ (E&I, Static equipment and Rotating equipment) is responsible for ensuring all Capital project installed equipment is reliable, compliant with Standards and relevant norms, and safe for operations. You will be involved with the team to support project management and ensure quality assurance during all project phases. 

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Ensure ongoing engineering compliance (e.g., statutory requirements, Engineering partner requirements, permits, legislative approvals).
  • Responsible for the provision of project engineering advice to operations, maintenance and project management.
  • Responsible for ensuring all modifications follow the Management of Change (MOC) process.
  • Liaise closely with our Engineering partner to ensure quality and ‘right first time’ for engineering deliverables.
  • Manage day to day engineering interfaces between corporate engineering group and projects, project managers and OEM teams.
  • Develop close working relationships with all engineering group members (Integrated Team) and the Project Managers/team to provide a consistent approach and effective resolution of issues.
  • Participate in design reviews, ensuring that regulatory, safety and client operability requirements are met, and collaborating with Operations to ensure that the equipment will be built in the safest, most efficient and cost effective manner possible (fit for purpose).
  • At the various project phases, participate in risk assessments, identifying and mitigating risks that are deemed to be unacceptable.
  • In collaboration with other discipline leads and reflecting project requirements, review scope of work documents as appropriate for procurement packages.
  • During construction, assess and provide technical recommendations in response to field enquiries.
  • Conduct quality assurance shop or on-site reviews of fabricated or constructed work to assure that quality control measures have effectively delivered work that complies with regulatory, company and Client requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering and project documentation and data.

This is what you bring

  • MSc or BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent;
  • At least 3 years of experience in the Oil & Gas or Petro-chemical industry with an extensive knowledge in the Rotating discipline;
  • Experience in the application of Norms, international standards, quality control plans and able to interpretate specific site standards;
  • Good working knowledge and skills in selection of various Pump, Compressor & Seal systems;
  • MS Office Suite, relevant mechanical engineering analysis software;
  • Good understanding of capital projects and the different project phases from front end engineering design design (FEED) to mechanical completion and commissioning;
  • Good understanding of vendor’s requisitioning and manufacturing process;
  • Fluent in English and proficient in Dutch (B1/B2).
