This is the role

You will be responsible for the design and engineering of Electrical equipment and infrastructure and Instrumentation for small-medium sized capital projects up to €10MM. 

This will include, in co-operation with our Engineering partner, the adherence to all relevant codes and standards, review of data sheets, specifications, RFQs and assurance of optimal total cost of ownership. This is an end to end process and as such, will involve interfacing with other disciplines like, planning, construction, procurement, maintenance and operations.
You will report functionally to the Department Manager and operationally to one or more Project Lead Engineers. Input will be delivered in the conceptual design, project specifications, basic engineering, extended basic and detailed design phases and during commissioning.

We expect you to have had a strong technical background in the electrical engineering environment with all aspects of electrical hardware and instrumentation. The understanding of the technical requirements of the project is crucial. The role is part of the project discipline engineering team including mechanical and rotating disciplines and is collectively responsible for ensuring that all installed equipment is reliable, compliant and safe. You will be involved with the team to support project management and ensure quality assurance during all project phases.

This is what you bring

  • Technical Bachelor degree (or higher) within the E&I discipline;
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the petrochemical industry as well as various field related application courses such as high/low voltage design expertise;
  • Experienced in working in a team of engineers, managing vendors including follow up on the manufacturing process of electrical equipment (FAT /SAT);
  • Functional Safety Engineer certificate is preferred;
  • In-depth knowledge of measurement principles for flow-, level-, pressure- and temperature, and of control valves, on-off valves;
  • Working knowledge of Basic Process Control Systems (BPCS) and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) with use of IEC61511;
  • Knowledge of local and international industry standards is preferred;
  • Experience developing/maintaining installations in the ATEX zones;
  • Fluent in English and Dutch (or willing to learn).
