The Finance Manager will be responsible for leading and managing all financial and accounting operations for two locations (Italy and Poland). This role encompasses General Accounting, Treasury, Accounts Payable and Receivable, Credit Management, FP&A and MC&A. The candidate will work directly with LYB corporate functions, ensuring compliance with corporate procedures, policies, and financial reporting standards while providing strategic financial support to local business operations.
The role will take place around the further integration of LYB standard processes (SAP implementation and Shared Services).
A Day in the Life
- Lead and oversee all financial and accounting activities for two manufacturing locations (Italy and Poland), ensuring compliance with local GAAP, IFRS/US GAAP, SOX and corporate policies
- Manage statutory accounting, general ledger, intercompany transactions, tax compliance and external audits
- Oversee treasury activities including cash management, liquidity planning, cash flow forecasting, banking relationships and FX exposure in line with corporate policies
- Lead Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Credit Management processes, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, payments, DSO improvement and credit risk control
- Drive Financial Planning & Analysis activities, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, profitability analysis, KPIs and management reporting
- Manage manufacturing and cost accounting processes, including standard costing, variance analysis, inventory valuation, COGS, cost control and operational performance analysis
- Support capital investment decisions through financial evaluation, ROI/DCF analysis and tracking of project benefits
- Act as key finance business partner for local site leadership and primary interface with LYB corporate functions (Accounting, Treasury, Tax, FP&A)
- Lead, develop and mentor the local finance team while supporting corporate initiatives, system implementations and continuous improvement projects
You Bring This Value
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field (required)
- Master's degree or MBA (preferred)
- Professional accounting certification (Italian Dottore Commercialista, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) strongly preferred
Experience
- Minimum 8-10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience
- At least 3-5 years in a managerial/leadership role
- Experience working in a multinational corporate environment including exposure to Shared Services
- Demonstrated experience across multiple finance functions (accounting, treasury, FP&A, cost accounting)
- Relevant manufacturing or industrial sector experience
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred, Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Navision desirable)
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Italian/Polish GAAP and IFRS
- Understanding of US GAAP (preferred)
- Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
- Understanding of SOX requirements and internal controls
Language Skills
- Native or Fluent in both English and Italian (written and spoken) - required
- Basic in Polish (written and spoken) - preferred
