Maintenance Manager

Basic Function

Responsible for maintaining the plant, equipment and assets of the Riese Pio X site to LYB standards and to ensure that plant is available as required by the production plan and that plant and infrastructure is maintained according to manufacturer’s recommendations and as for the Italian laws.  Managing the safety and efficiency of LYB maintenance team and contractors as required by the Italian law (Legislative Decree 81/2008) and LYB procedures.  
Contributing actively to the provision of a safe working environment for all associates on site including maintenance and improvement projects and contribution to risk assessments.  
Continuous improvement of plant utilization including planned, preventative, predictive and extraordinary maintenance and risk assessment.  
Managing the purchase and use of maintenance items according to budget and good practice.  
Evaluating suppliers/contractors to ensure the best possible use of budgeted funds considering cost and quality and business risk. 

Roles & Responsibilities

• Manages and supervises the whole maintenance team in site.
• Responsible for maintaining the plant, equipment and assets of the site to LYB standards and ensures that plant is available as required by the production plan.
• Ensures that plant and infrastructure is maintained according to manufacturer’s recommendations and Italian laws.
• Manage and supervises the safety and efficiency of contractors.  
• Initiate and takes responsibility of work permit related to the maintenance area
• Contributes actively to the provision of a safe working environment for all associates on site including maintenance and improvement projects and contribution to risk assessments.
• Ensures continuous improvement of plant utilization including planned preventative maintenance and risk assessment.
• Develops the skill and effectiveness of the maintenance team through identifying training needs and personal development in compliance with HSE procedures.
• Maintains a clean, organized, lean and effective maintenance workshop using continuous improvement and lean principles.
• Manages the purchase and use of maintenance items according to budget and good practice.  Evaluates suppliers/contractors to ensure the best possible use of budgeted funds considering cost and quality and business risk.
• Manages the tech office documentations (end user manuals, conformity declarations, certifications of machines) in cooperation with HSE Manager.
• Responsible for all the new installations, machines movement/transfer.
• Manages and participates in capex projects with Site Manager, production and HSE manager.
• Managing and supervising the periodic preventive maintenance cycles of the equipment ensuring their continuous updating.
• Manages and supervises in the management of routine maintenance, through the registration of maintenance requests, including the calculation of the related costs.
• Supervises and updates department procedures to be in line with all LYB requirements (HSE, Quality etc.)
• Optimizes maintenance activities identifying and implementing the actions improve.
• Is responsible for the correct use of personal protective equipment in accordance with the regulatory and corporate health / safety / environmental provisions.
• Carries out its duties always respecting the general and specific rules related to health / safety / environment / quality / ethics and LYB company procedures.

Min. Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s or master’s Degree with preference in Mechanical Engineering, or Technical High School Diploma plus 5-10 years of experience in maintenance manufacturing
• At least 5-10 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably part of multinational groups, with tasks similar to those sought or in any case within the technical / plant engineering area of the company.

Knowledge of main software: MS pack, AutoCAD, project.

Language Skills: Italian, English.

• KPI responsibility for machine utilization and reduction in unplanned breakdowns.
• Technical knowledge of machines, complex lines for plastic/rubber production.
• Competence in managing contractors for general service as electrical distribution, compressed air, plumbing, environmental de-dust system, water treatment, fire protection, etc.
• Knowledge of Italian law related to the site management and equipment.
• Able to assess and manage complex maintenance problems under time pressure.  Able to use Plan / Do / Check / Act and to integrate this methodology into daily maintenance, planned maintenance and breakdown situations.  Able to use data to assess priorities and track improvements.  
• Lead a small maintenance and installation team.  Involvement in capex projects as a team member and if appropriate as a project leader.  Play a significant part in site safety activities including risk assessment, hazard reduction, re-engineering to remove hazards, identifying, rectifying and maintaining small problems on plant and equipment to maintain all equipment to the closest condition to first supply. Optimization of electricity consumptions to be more competitive.
• Strong customer focus and ability to prioritize, managing different activities simultaneously and adapt shifting priorities 
• Formal training and qualification in implementation of Lean/5S would be advantageous

Preferred Qualifications

Competencies
