Basic Function

Purpose of the role is to drive the APAC Sustainability Business strategy via identifying the roadmap, collaborating with the customer and upstream JVs and strategic partners. This role will also be active in related associations to represent LYB APS. The role will closely collaborate with the segment business manager to develop the sustainability strategy into the short term / long term business unit strategy, Translating them into the Value Enhancement Program (VEP) and Growth funnel, structuring and driving market and product portfolio optimization initiatives in close collaboration with the sales, NBD, PAD, S&OP, GPU and manufacturing, and also the sustainability managers globally.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop APS APAC Business Strategies for sustainability in the relevant market segments aligning with the mega trend and right to win
  • Participate the related associations to closely monitor the policy mandates and the potential impact on business
  • Own the sustainability roadmap for the region, guide the commercial team to aim for the right customer, setting up short / long term sustainability target
  • Securing the upstream resources aligned with the business strategy, partnership with key JV and 3rd party suppliers, develop new resources together with procurement team to secure the needs
  • Guide the cross functional team (Sales, New business development, PAD, procurement and manufacturing, marketing communications, etc.,) on the initiatives / goals to support the business strategy and growth
  • Key focal point in cross regional sustainability business initiatives to leverage LYB’s global network and footprint
  • Promote the company strategy in front of the key strategic customers

Min. Qualifications

Area of Expertise, Requirements

  • Strong knowledge in Auto / Appliance market, experienced in business development is preferred
  • Extensive knowhow in mechanical / chemical / biobased recycle industry, understand the value chain, demand / supply balance, and also the risks
  • Background in driving growth projects with customers from concept to commercialization that has a strong technical involvement and often requires a team approach
  • Capability on cross functional alignment, influence without authorization
  • Exposure in the circularity association is preferred
  • Understand how to leverage product/application developments across OEMs/brand owner/ regions

Education:

  • University degree or above, major in polymer and material science is preferred
  • Basic IT capabilities (e-mail, SAP R3, EXCEL, WORD, POWERPOINT).

Work Experience:

  • Min 10 years of experience in commercial position, experience in develop auto business is preferred
  • Good technical understanding of recycle plastics market in APAC. Good vision in translating the mega trend into the business initiatives

Languages:

  • Fluent in English
  • One or more other Asian languages preferable such as Mandarin
