Basic Function

We are looking for someone who has the ambition to contribute to LYB’s continuous improvement strategy and ensure LYB can meet the increasing data needs of our Tax team and the demands of a worldwide tax authority’s digitization of tax. 
The role of the Data Analyst is part of our Poznan Poland Shared Service Centre and will primarily support the data collection activities of the tax function, including optimization of data gathering, design, governance, implementation and roll-out of solutions that support LYB’s tax function. 

Roles & Responsibilities

•    You will contribute to documenting the Tax team’s overall data needs and interdependencies with other processes and stakeholders.
•    You will act as a Tax Excellence business partner, including being a direct contact for tax teams; working with them to satisfy data requirements on a recurring and ad hoc basis. Through this you will help identify gaps and opportunities to implement solutions in response to changing legislative requirements and business needs.
•    You will assist in developing and providing input into the overall data management strategy for the Tax department.
 

Min. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, MIS or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in a finance or accounting data analysis role with strong evidence of promoting innovation and efficiency by streamlining and standardizing business processes while leading others in an organization with similar operational scale and geographic footprint
  • A background in tax is not required or necessary. Strong candidates with the skills required, from backgrounds other than tax, will be considered. 
  • Languages: Fluent in written and spoken English, additional language preferred

Other Skills

  • Able to leverage Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system configuration knowledge of SAP to extract data efficiently from the systems to support tax team processes and deliverables
  • Experience in analyzing large volumes of data and are able to combine data from many different sources 
  • Able to follow documented procedures to design and perform optimal extraction and presentation of data
  • Courage to ask questions and to provide suggestions on best practices regarding tax function data needs
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and knowledge of PowerBI is a plus
  • Familiarity with the end to end financial data processes is a plus
  • Knowledge of ETL (extract, transform and load) tools like Alteryx is a plus
